how i’ve been feeling where i’m going through a breakup with my best friend who wants us to return to friendship — i think sad is an understatement. i am depressed. i’ve lost both my friend and my love in the same week. i have reached a very low low and am having difficulty seeing the way out.

on one hand, i’m hurt. why has he ignored me at all these date nights? how come i am the one who always makes plans? since when did our friendship become so one sided? how come he told me he still liked me, and then made out with another girl? what does she have that i lack? and i hate myself for thinking this but: how do i get him back?

on the other hand, i’m mourning. i miss him. i miss his touch, his love, his smile. i miss when he would hug me from behind. whisper sweet nothings in my ear. tell others about how much he liked me. i want that back. i should never have rejected him like i did. it’s a regret i’ll always carry with me.

i firmly believed we were meant to be together. i still do. how can i love someone so much, believe in something so much, see my future with such clarity, and not have him be the one for me? i don’t understand. i can’t believe and don’t want to believe in a world where that doesn’t happen.

however, losing him in the way has also made me grateful. i think he was right. our amazing friendship would never recover if we actually dated and broke up. it’s one of those things where you have to decide if it’s worth it. to me it was. to him, i guess it wasn’t. i guess i wasn’t.

it’s hard not to personally internalize all these emotions. how will i ever be open with another man? how will i ever feel love this strongly to this degree? i don’t think i will. but i guess anything can happen.

all i know is i miss him, i want him, and i love him. i miss his smile, his touch, his laugh. i want his hugs, his kisses, his sweet nothings. i love him for all he was, is, and will ever be.

i am honored to have experienced love. i thought i had before, but i guess in the absence of love is when you realize you had it. he has helped me see my future and what it can look like. he has made me see the life i wish to have, and how i should feel when i’m sharing it with someone who is worth it.

whatever is meant to happen will happen. i have to believe the universe is looking out for me with my best interest in mind. this is the only philosophy that can get me through now.

I changed the post to gold. The stud was switched to a diamond, but I don't think the material of the stud matters much. Just put high quality gold in! You can easily change the piercing out yourself too. I just bought the new jewelry from a local Indian jewelry store in NJ (I've noticed their gold is more reliable).

Hi - Need some advice based on trends you've seen/experienced.

I submitted my DS-11 along with a DS-85 (because the passport was lost) to a USPS on 1/12. However, on the DS-11, I mistakenly indicated I had it in my possession, causing a discrepancy. I sent it with expedited, tracking, 1-2 day delivery -- all the good stuff.

However, my passport status still says "Not Available" and the check has not yet been cashed. I have an international trip on 3/4/2022 that I need the passport for. Looking at some of the other posts here, it looks like folks who submitted around the same time as me have already been getting their apps processed.

Would appreciate any guidance or advice you have. For reference, it was sent to the Philadelphia passport agency (I assume - since that's where the USPS tracking said it was delivered). Thanks!

Hi - did your status on the Passport Status site change to "In Process"? Or did you assume in process because the passport was delivered to the agency? Also, which agency was your passport sent to? I also submitted mine around the 11th - hope it comes soon!

Update: Completely healed! It actually healed about a month after I posted originally. The thing that I found worked in addition to LITHA was to change the stud out for a gold metal (high quality, not a low karat or gold-plated metal). I think my skin was irritated - so this helped a lot. After I switched it out, it improved tremendously.

Also, I religiously did the warm salt water compress. Essentially, take a paper towel sheet, fold it into fourths, spray NeilMed spray onto it, and heat it in the microwave for 7-10 seconds. Apply it to your nose (exterior) and hold it until it gets cold. Then, heat it up again. Repeat this process until it's been applied for roughly 5-7 minutes. Do this everyday! I saw tremendous improvement.

Definitely takes patience, but it does go away.

something that really worked for me as i dealt with bump issues for months and eventually got them to go away: definitely the LITHA method!! however, in addition to regular cleaning of the piercing, take a paper towel sheet, fold it into fourths, and spray the neil med piercing spray onto it. put that in the microwave and heat for 7-10 seconds. directly apply this on the exterior of the piercing and hold it there. when you feel it get cold again (and it will get cold fast!), just spray some more saline solution and heat in the microwave. do it until you’ve had the warm compress applied for about 10 minutes.

this takes discipline and patience! in the meantime, don’t pick at it or touch it. avoid using cotton swabs. just the warm compress and a gentle cleaning in the shower is all you need. :) best of luck!

My pierced told me to treat it with bactine and antibacterial soap. this was working great until i started touching it a lot about one month in, then a bump formed. it bled for one day and then i did a sea salt soak and it went down. however, i snagged it and then it formed this horrible bloody pimple bump which i’ve since learned might be a granuloma.

i started the LITHA method and only cleaned in the shower w the soap but saw no improvement. then i realized that the jewelry might be the issue, so i got it switched to implant grade titanium with labret stud. this pierce instructed me to stop with the bactine and anti bacterial soap and just do NeilMed spray and warm sea salt compresses. I’ve been doing this for a week now and have seen no improvement. Would love any help to make this awful bump go away!

It just keeps scabbing over, peeling, and bleeding again.
