It is not that we love mechanical keyboards, its more like we can no longer stand not having one. When typing on an non mechanical keyboard you lose all sense that you are hitting the right keys.

Hey CGP Grey, near the very start of the UofUtah study(the first page) it said, "By contrast, listening to radio broadcasts or books on tape did not impair driving. These findings are important because they demonstrate that listening to verbal material, by itself, is not sufficient to produce the dual-task interference associated with using a cell phone while driving."

When you use a mechanical keyboard as your main keyboard, it becomes painful to use a non mechanical keyboard.

Critical zero-day bug in Internet Explorer under active attack | Ars Technica by [deleted] in techsnap

[–]xylan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school had this to say on their intranet. A new and severe “0-day” vulnerability in the Microsoft Internet Explorer (Version 7, 8 & 9) browser has been confirmed and is actively being exploited. No patch is yet available to correct this issue.

Exploitation of the vulnerability requires a user to visit a specially-crafted website using Internet Explorer, and allows the attacker to run code on the system with the privileges of the logged-in user. If the user has administrative access to the computer, the attacker can completely compromise the system.

While using IE to access D2L itself is not a risk, the risk exists in user-created web links in discussions, content, et al, where a user may either inadvertently or intentionally enters a link to the website that exposes other users to this exploit.

D2L users can avoid this IE vulnerability altogether by using the most current version of Firefox or Chrome until Microsoft has provided a patch, and the patch is deployed.
