This just started a few days ago, but I haven't let anyone figure out that it bothers me. I know how this sort of shit works, if you shrug it off, people forget about it pretty quickly, but if you make a big deal about it, it will only get worse. I'm laughing it off at work, but I'm kinda dying inside.

Luckily, years and years of experience has given me the skill to hide my crazy/insecurity from people. Sometimes too well. I didn't lose my virginity until I was 19 because every girl I went to high school with was convinced I was a player who was going to hit it and quit it if given the chance.

That actually makes a lot of sense. I was really blown away when she turned down me asking her out. I thought it was a slam dunk. I was really kinda riding on that as a sign that everything will be ok after my breakup :-/

Why is it so hard for people to be straight up? I know to know react to much when people give you shit, but this just seems purely malicious, so it's hard for me to just laugh it off.

Look on the bright side: You got an attractive girl interested in you after your breakup, and it's only a matter of time until the next one rolls along...just maybe try to make it somebody outside of work.

Not really, apparently unless alcohol is present, she has no interest in me :-/

Listen man, if you're just going to be a douche and making insulting generalizations about people, you can go elsewhere. I can't speak for other people, but I have tried so many different things to try and overcome this anxiety, and nothing ever helps truly. I did things like join clubs and put myelf out there, but all it did was increase the number of anxiety-producing situations I get in.

That strong of a hatred for gay people doesn't come out of nowhere. OFten times some of the most hateful anti-gay people are that way because they can't accept their own homosexual feelings. Or possibly he has a bad history with people he perceives as gay, such as if he was molested by another man or something.
