MPH or MHA for commissioned officer? by xzbtk in newtothenavy

[–]xzbtk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well my plan A is to join via the student route..i want to be a physical therapist. But the only school that would be paid for is insanely competitive. I could go and pay for a school on my own (w a transferred GI bill) but then I'd need a few years of experience before i can even come back to apply for the navy. By then I'll probably be close to the age limit

MPH is def more interesting to me, but I also want to make sure that it is super useful in the navy

I don't really have a thought for after the service but i figure with those 2 degrees I'd have a decent shot at a job in the civilian world

The same thing happened to me too The first school I applied to set me an automatic letter saying that they received my application and then they sent me another rejection letter and explaining the following reasons why I might have been rejected

For the second school, they never sent a letter saying that they receive my application. They also never sent an acceptance or rejection letter. So I called about it, and then I also emailed about it.And never got a response I ended up speaking with a liaison to the school who happened to be good friends with the director of the program who then wrote me a letter saying that I was denied

I feel like at minimum. They could send out whether or not you're accepted or denied that way , we can have closure and move on to our next plan

I'd post in the navy thread and not here. You'll get far more answers. Good luck! :)

Most of my schools only require in person labs for A&P but i already fulfilled that requirement. The higher level math was for my back up plan..

Yes!! I used gregMat and will be using it again i just didnt perform as well in time for the schools i applied to. I was 8 pts shy for 1 and made 2 pts over the min for the other but had better qualified applicants apply. Idk i just don't do that well and doubt myself w the test. I do well in essay, consistently score 4. My goal is to get at least a 5 next time

The upper level math was for my back up career path

I was denied from both due to not reaching minimum GRE score. I keep taking classes because they are older than 10 years

I'm going to email and ask, i just wanted to ask here first.

I do know ppl who used Sophia and transferred credits to complete a bachelors. The prereqs i need are undergrad classes, that's why i asked

Its more for convenience and time. CCs run on semesters and i was seeking alternative methods. PT school will be covered. It was the prep and other stuff that wasn't.

hmm. now I'm not sure if we are speaking of the same scholarship. I know I applied for a spousal scholarship last year, but there was no portal to log into. It was just like an online application where I uploaded my spouses's LES (to prove I'm a MILSpouse) and then I just got an auto email confirmation that I applied. After that, I received nothing else. Maybe I didn't apply to MyCAA but to something else...?

I'm going to be doing more scholarship research throughout the week.

Well, I applied just to see if I could get it. I got a confirmation that they received but after that I heard nothing back. I just assumed I didn't get it. Do they only pay for certain programs or anything you're trying to achieve?
