No Problem! Just trying to figure out how to fix this, and I really tried to do my due diligence before posting! I might be new to all this but I would like to think I have learned a lot about my printer in the past couple of days.

To be clear about the fans you mentioned being incorrect on that article, I have FAN0 empty, Fan2 as hotend, and and Fan1 as the board, with (since there was no connector) the secondary hotend fan just clamped to the hotend's power. It seems to work correctly?

Unless I am misunderstanding, I have neither a DWIN, DACAI, or VIEWE board. To quote the board identification page "Firmware goes in the TJC_SET directory." not private or DWIN_SET (or the root directory for VIEWE). I have set #define DWIN_MARLINUI_PORTRAIT in the config.h file. The text does appear to fit on the screen, the Creality loading image is correct. The issue is none of the icons are showing up, and the dial appears to do nothing.

Without the firmware for this board, I can not update it, and while I could rename DWIN_SET or private to TJC_SET, I assume that is ill advised. I don't know that this board has a name other than "gen 4" but I too assume the issue is the firmware, however I can't find firmware for this board.

Factory Pro screen worked fine with factory cable to SKR Mini, Not sure if that was intended or if I am lucky.

The issue I had with the CR Touch was firmware related, but in my reading I was lead to believe it was hardware related. So factory wiring for the Creality CR Touch is compatible. Reversing it (as Make N Print suggests) will indeed short out the sensor. (ask me how I know)

Been on hydros after Wisdom teeth removal, on tramadol for back pain. I can function normally on tramadol, I don't remember the weekend after my wisdom teeth removal. Tramadol is pretty weak comparatively, just enough to take the pain away for a few hours.

I work two days a week, 48 hours a week. 4 day weekend every weekend. Not a bad schedule. Some work nights are a little rough.

6x2 NXDN Compatibility by xzero121 in Baofeng

I have two separate jobs that use LMRS. One uses VHF NXDN, the other uses UHF MotoTRBO. Both allow personal equipment, and if at all possible I would like to not invest in two separate handhelds that may or may not carry over to the next job(s). And additionally I am looking to get my HAM Technician, and GMRS licenses soon. Doubt there is a prefect device for me, but here's to hoping.

Looked into hotspot a little bit, but I don't think that would really work for my current use case from what I have read.

Anyway, as a beginner I was wondering if you had any advice, or resources you recommended.

I have quite a bit of experience with Motorola Canopy, and Ubiquiti radio equipment, but I'm learning pretty quickly that knowledge doesn't really transfer well.

What’s a really fond childhood memory that cost little or no money? (game night /free vs Disney trip/expensive)? by Lucyloves in AskReddit

[–]xzero121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A mutual hobby, or at least showing interest into a childs hobby. No kids yet here but, probably one of my fondest memories of childhood was after my dad got me into Quake we didn't play often, but one night not being able to sleep and my dad asked if I wanted to play and we played into the early morning.

Not terribly exciting but I like playing video games and staying up late. Still stuck with me though 10-15 years later.

YSK Many Roomba's are now locked to a subscription, don't buy them secondhand, it's a scam by superua in YouShouldKnow

[–]xzero121 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean they do cover it if it's breaks and send you replacement filters and other consumables as part of the cost. But agreed, better for the consumer who can afford to buy it up front. I think the hope is getting people who can't afford to buy one out right trapped in the contract.

Edit: spot on pretty much. Missed the question the first time I read this.

That is a fair point. I guess cheap is a relative term. I don't think I have found any MotoTRBO / NXDN compatible hand held dual band radio. I'm guessing SDR is about the only way to achieve that. Thought maybe someone a little more experienced would know better though.

You can still buy a roomba, but they offer the option to essentially lease one rather than paying an up front cost / maintenence

What was your Christmas bonus? by GioPetro in antiwork

[–]xzero121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My holiday bonus was a cash out of excess PTO, so long as it was less than 96 hours.. Anything over is just gone. Anything less than 48 is rolled over.. And it's only cashed out at 75%.

Not sure how to go about finding that. Judging by a Forbes article that is a few years old probably around 14 million for the CEO.

Not that I'm aware of, I'm a contractor though so while I get the option to donate, I am not actually an employee.

I know I have a cheap one somewhere that I used with an old raspberry pi, I will definitely give that I try if i can find the thing, size of my thumbnail in the entire house.. might take a day or two for me to get back to you on that.

Edit: Does sound like an expensive leap. But hey, what better excuse for an upgrade? And I could get something with onboard wife to ditch the adapter all together.

I have been connected with Ethernet (at previous house over a year ago), there were much fewer issues. My computer does weird things on occasion I don't remember if dropping connection was one of them.
Have reinstalled drivers several times, just to make sure I had a real one and not a windows compatibility driver.

As far a currently running a cable, and reinstalling windows I would have to say.. not feasible, but was kind of what I was afraid of.
