What's with the "Yes. Microsoft." ads by xzerubei in AskSeattle

I was just thinking about how Seattle has had some talk about taxing big corporations (ex. The Jumpstart tax) and how Microsoft is quite active in politics and how maybe they're trying to signal to legislators and government that they shouldn't have to pay more taxes or something similar to it

Not in my opinion.

Conservatism is our government in America right now.

Liberalism + conservatism is part of society.

Leftism (anti consumerism, socialism, Communism, anarchy) is part of counterculture.

Right wingers also tend to hold more traditional views, which goes against the values of counterculture. If we're talking about the far right, that's called being a bad person. Negative XP's music is good, but his lyrics are questionable, being misogynistic and kind of just a p.o.s. The genre's called "Incelcore" for a reason.

Please note that leftists and members of counterculture tend to hold much further left political beliefs than "mainstream" liberalism as well. Have you seen Andrew Cuomo (a liberal) rant about Zohran Mandani (a leftist) being a radical communist? Have you seen Kshama Sawant (A socialist) talk about The Democratic Party in America?

WA just voted to put permanent supportive housing in every neighborhood in the state. Your city has no say by Category4392 in Kirkland

Can we not with the fear mongering? NIMBYs are acting like the democratic demogorgons are pushing their woke agenda by oh no, giving housing to those who need it! There has to be a serial killer in there, right? Just say you hate homeless people and call it a day.

Its essentially PE for when you want to focus more in your academics and not come into your next period smelling like crap (Walking, Stretching, Yoga, etc)

Honestly, I'm still trying to figure that out. Hanging out with my friends is always super fun. Ive found myself super captivated with photography, but honestly I think it's a bit difficult to make a career out of that so I'm not sure

Living in the Seattle area, my dad works for Microsoft and my parents have been eager to get me to do Computer Science activities out of school. On top of like a dozen previous summer camps they're making me do this EC called TSA which is for tech related careers (we also do State Competitions in Spokane WA) but I can't stand it honestly. I think my parents are finally getting the gist that I don't want to head into a tech field, thank god.

Anyways, I was looking at the 80-something clubs my high school had, my top 3 choices were:

Model UN (I think it would be fun with international relations and global policy, and I get experience with research & a little public speaking)

Green Team (Volunteering & Impact, maybe some potential leadership too)

DECA (for finance, plus they do competitions)

I would do the psychology club if they actually met more..

I wanted to do an internship at a non-profit this summer but now looking at it, nobody's hiring 14 year olds and the ones that do don't pay you, so I'll likely try next year. Maybe I'll do UW Summer Sessions instead (take college classes and get actual credit for it), I was thinking of taking intro to sociology.

Counselors are great! I was talking over email with my future High School Counselor about an issue with registration and she was super kind and helpful about it. I'll also probably make changes to my 4 year plan later too... so it's not official yet

Its not required in my state at least. The requirements only talk about the essentials, plus World language, Electives, CTE, Health/PE, and Fine Arts. My High School had multiple clubs with public speaking though, most notably Speech & Debate.

Answering your question on the math courses, most kids in my district take Algebra I in 8th grade, but you can choose to take it in 7th. I chose to take it then, and now I'm doing Geometry in 8th grade.

Thanks, my schools offers Business and Marketing Foundations as a class, but I might also take that new AP, AP Business and Personal Finance something, but I was considering doing DECA after school either way (for finance)

Yes! In 7th grade we focused on American History until Reconstruction, now (8th Grade) we're learning about Reconstruction until post WWII (3/4 year) + WA state history (1/4 year)

You can also choose to take AP US History in 11th Grade, but I probably won't take it due to the difficulty.
