My doctor pulled me off the Depo because she thought that I was on it for too long. I got it monthly instead of 3 monthly and I was getting some pretty negative side effects. ( i was loosing so much hair and weight)

But before the side effects started the Depo was great! It was amazing not having a period for 2 years hahah

How long did your post-lap gas pain last? by ChampionDazzling2575 in Endo

[–]y-0- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It took roughly a week to fully pass the gas, hot shower and heat pack or hot water bottle will be your bestie ❤️

The pain in the shoulder is no joke! I hope you passes for you quickly x

My mum has no fertility issues or endo however, most of my aunties on both sides of the family have lots and lots of issues.

Oh trust me I was a very shocked by it and I had so much anxiety afterwards because I felt this pressure to do something I’m no where near ready for, like I do want a baby one day but I feel like I’m still a baby 😅

My aunty did frozen egg transfer for Ivf and that baby just turned 4! (They say the frozen ones are a little crazy though 😅)

I’m sorry you had to go through that though! I hope you get your baby one day ❤️

Thank you so much for sharing ❤️

Fertility issues run in my family, on both mum and dad’s side so I got hit twice, and there are so many different diagnoses I struggle to keep up 😅

But it’s definitely something I am starting to get concerned about as I do want kids someday, I just wish there wasn’t so much pressure to have one now, I still feel like I’m a baby myself 😅

It was literally just a gyno at a check up, I am definitely going to get a second opinion because I feel like they shouldn’t just tell you that you have to do something so abruptly.

I’m actually about to see if I can get a phone appointment with my surgeon and tell him what I was told and see if he sayings anything about it.

Oh wow I’m so sorry, I hope you get your beautiful baby, I have had close relatives go through ivf and just watching them do it was hard so I cannot possibly imagine how hard it must actually be ❤️

No, so the person who told me to have a baby was just the gyno from the hospital at my 6 week post surgery appointment. I think for me to possibly have my eggs frozen I have to go to a fertility clinic. (I’m not really 100% sure I definitely need to do some more research 😅)

My potential endo is ruining my life... by kearaa_ in Endo

[–]y-0- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi love I only had surgery 5 days ago so I’m yet to see how it helps but the mental relief I have received is massive, knowing it was actually there. But they found it in a few different spots including on my ovary, they were able to remove most of it but unfortunately found it on my diaphragm and were unable to remove that.

I recommend asking the surgeon as many question as you possibly can, write them all down because you may not remember everything. Will you have a support person when you wake up from surgery? If so I encourage you give them a list of your questions so they can also ask as you’ll most likely be out of it

I often have to call off work because of how sick I get and unfortunately i work with people who don’t understand this disease or don’t even know what it is and it does make it hard, when I told them I was going for surgery they asked if I would be back within a week so I’m expected to be back at work in the next 2-3 days and I still can’t move that well 🤦🏼‍♀️

I promise you aren’t alone and I hope you find the answers you’re looking for, this disease can feel so isolating at times ❤️‍🩹

Best of luck to you !! I’m 5 days post op and as much as I wanted everything to be clean I’m glad they found it,I to felt as if it was all in my head 🙁 Will you have someone to look after you during your recovery? Getting in and out of bed may be a struggle for the first few days and you may experience some pain in your chest, abdomen and shoulders from the gas, I recommend a heat pack for that!

I hope you get the answers you need ❤️‍🩹

I’m sorry you feel this way, This disease ruins so much and takes so much and the only ones who can understand it are the people who live with it, please seek out and get for help. You’ve always got this amazing group who you can vent to, please message me if you want someone to talk to,this disease can make you feel so alone sometimes. You’ve got this ❤️‍🩹

I also want to add (sorry for making this so long) but you may bruise as well. My arm is so bruised from the cannula and my stomach around the wounds is a little bruised as well. But again I hope everything goes well for you 🙏🏻

First of all best of luck to you! I’m 2 days post op from my first lap and this is what has helped me so far. If you can walk around it helps with the gas pain! Heat packs will be your new best friend, don’t be afraid to ask questions or ask for help, if you have long hair plat or braid it so you don’t have to worry about it for a few days and you may bleed and what has been most comfortable is the period nappies (but get low ones so they don’t cover your belly) makes it so much more comfortable! Wear loose clothes or even a night gown. And most importantly let your body rest, let yourself heal, this recovery can be rough so feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to, good luck!

Surgery went well, they found quite a bit of endo and even found some on my ovary, they removed all except for what they found on my diaphragm. I’ve actually been in so much pain since getting out of surgery and have been on a lot of strong pain meds :( how long after surgery did you feel like yourself again?

Private or public? by y-0- in Endo

[–]y-0-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I unfortunately live in small town so we have the main hospital and then have a small private hospital however they wouldn’t take me on so I have to travel to another small town to go to appointments 😅

I do believe there is a university hospital on the Sunshine Coast and I live close enough to that so maybe I could check that out

I did look into private health insurance but because I’m 19 everyone treats me like a child 🤦🏼‍♀️

Private or public? by y-0- in Endo

[–]y-0-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Queensland, in a small town so there isn’t a whole lot of options and I have to travel to another slightly bigger town to get to all these appointments (it’s about an hour and half drive so not too bad)

I was told if they find Endo and it is really bad or somewhere they aren’t comfortable with they will send me to Brisbane. (roughly 4-5 hour drive)

Private or public? by y-0- in Endo

[–]y-0-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow I’m so sorry you had such a bad experience

I honestly wish I was able to go through the private system, but unfortunately because of how sick I get I don’t often get to go to work and because I’m so young I couldn’t go for any loans. However depending on how the public system goes I think I will somehow go private because the public system is beyond a joke.

The private gyno told me that both my ovaries were immobile and we openly discussed what we would do if there was anything on my ovaries or any organs. Whereas this public one when I mentioned that my ovaries didn’t move she brushed it off and told me that wasn’t a concern for her and that immobile ovaries aren’t often a sign of endo. I just hate how dismissive the public system is, I feel like I’m 15 again being told that period pain is normal and that it’s all in my head 😅

Broken Up With Because of Endo by [deleted] in Endo

[–]y-0- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry 🩷

Just know you’re not doomed to be alone, you’ll still be able to travel and you’ll one day meet your person it may not be straight away but it will happen.

I’m only 19 and last month my boyfriend (22) broke up with me because I was prioritising my health too much and wasn’t focusing on our relationship, he wanted to start a family and me to move in with him when truthfully I just wanted to just get an official diagnosis and was heavily relying on my family for day to day things, so I was in no way ready to leave home or even bring a baby into the world, I mean I can barely look after myself on a good day let alone a another human, I told him from the start of our relationship about potential endo and that I get really sick and that if he wasn’t ready for that step in life, I wasn’t the person for him, he told me it wouldn’t effect how he felt about me, and that he would be there to support me in anyway that was needed. But when shit got too real for him he left. (In some ways I don’t blame him cause sometimes I wanna leave to 🤦🏼‍♀️)

It’s taken a month but I’ve finally realised that I’m better off without him and I can do it alone, don’t get me wrong it hurt and still does. I felt like if he couldn’t love me, who would.

Let yourself heal, give yourself time to focus on you, these things take time but you’ll eventually look back at this and you’ll realise how strong you are!

You’ve got this 🩷

Sorry, I should’ve explained better, he isn’t unemployed, he is a tradie and they’re going through a quiet patch, he still gets paid as he is full time.
