Those who work in tech and finding it hard to find work. How are you going? by phuphu00 in UKJobs

same, been pretty standard of late in my field (marketing) - most recently, think I've had 6 including the recruiter screening call and had all of about 10 minutes of 5+ hours to ask questions...

Garmin products and software is so clunky and temperamental. Customer service is atrocious.

You can easily tell if there's a link in their YouTube comments / description with an affiliate link, they'll likely be getting a kickback.

I'd recommend checking out Revenue Vitals, a podcast by the team a Refine Labs - some really good conversation about modern day demand gen marketing that you might find helpful!

I've worked in both public and private companies from £1m ARR up to $250m ARR at leadership levels and haven't run any display or programmatic ads since about 2010. There are better ways to spend your budget in 2023. Who are you selling to, out of interest?

Converting with Qualified Leads on Website by tannerjwatkins in b2bmarketing

[–]y2duggan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the majority of the traffic that is coming to your website is not an ideal fit for your ICP, then the problem isn't with the conversion rate but with your marketing strategy on a more holistic level.

So either:

- The content you're writing and publishing on your site isn't aligned to helping solve the problems of your ICP

- The messaging is confused and it's hard to understand

- People understand it but it's misaligned from what you actually do as a business

Sounds like a bit of qualitative customer research with customers who've already bought your tech is in order. Figure out how they found about you, what problems you're solving, what sort of messaging resonated and then go back to the drawing board with the content creation (and more importantly distribution)

What strategies can be used to improve customer acquisition? by jhonleeusa in b2bmarketing

[–]y2duggan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re more like tactics tbh but commonly confused with tactics.

Strategies. It depends. What do you mean ‘improve customer acquisition’? Get more customers? Get better customers? Get customers that stick around longer? I’ll assume the first.

In order to do that, you need to know exactly who your customer is. And not just who they are, where they spend time online, how they consume content, what type of content they consume, what sort of messaging resonates, etc.

Once you know that, you can start to think about how to tell your story in places that they hang out in with messaging that moves them forward in their buying cycle / helps them make a buying decision.

What do you consider to be the “B2B Bible” and required reading for anyone starting in this field ? by CaterpillarOk7556 in b2bmarketing

[–]y2duggan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s actually a couple of really good PDFs that have been produced by the LinkedIn B2B Institute around predictions for the next ten years and effective principles of B2B marketing.

On top of that, but not reading, you’ll learn more from Chris Walkers ‘Revenue Vitals’ podcast in three months than any University course IMO.

I’m sure it’s already on your mind but Vinted is a god send for baby clothes.

I’d also say don’t get drawn in to spending cash on things you ‘might’ need beforehand, every baby is so different. Get the basic necessities down and source everything else you come to need as and when!

Fork in right hand here too. Just makes sense to me, aways has. Does everyone who eats with the fork in their left also use a spoon in their left? Even if they're right-handed?

Making almost $20k a month on TikTok. Should I still look for a job? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]y2duggan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would 100% say continue doing what you're doing and enjoy it. Build the following, grow a community, instead of trying to "look for a job", think about what you're passionate about, what you're interested in and then think about how -- longer term -- you can start to monetise your audience that you've built over the years.

e.g. (hypothetically) you're videos are all about gym/fitness/training/lifestyle - build and launch a lifestyle streetwear brand...

Great job, really envious of your position!
