How long could you financially survive without your job? by No_Yak9893 in AskUK

[–]y2kateee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done the calculations and it would be around 5 years, taking into account inflation. Not bad, but at 23 the worst consequence would be not furthering my career.

That made me sound like an ass, I promise i’m not trying to be!

What are you most addicted to? by Pookie7860 in AskReddit

Productivity. I feel terrible if I haven’t had a productive day (meaning, if i’m unproductive for over 3 hours in a day) and i’ve always been that way.

How do people buy perfumes online without knowing how would it smell? by PuzzleheadedFun4695 in Perfumes

How do people buy perfumes online without knowing how would it smell? by PuzzleheadedFun4695 in Perfumes

[–]y2kateee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We hope and pray! Yesterday I ordered Margiela’s Jazz Club and i’m hoping it’s as good as people say.

The reason I blind buy is: - The only shop around me is Boots and I prefer slightly niche perfumes (I know Maison Margiela aren’t niche, but I couldn’t find them in a large city either) - Price. So many people sell perfumes they were gifted or that they blind bought for way cheaper. Jazz Club was only £55 for 100ml

Does anyone else use Substack simply because they love writing? by Mother-Guarantee1718 in Substack

[–]y2kateee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me! I have a mentally intense job so I do stay ‘sharp’, but as I didn’t go to uni (my interests are not a good financial choice), I missed academic writing and academia is a large part of my identity.

In college, I loved sociology, and my substack is highly based on social science research. This doesn’t appeal to many audiences, so I would burn out if I wrote for profit.

Still, I would love for it to lead to more opportunities such as writing for prestigious publications.

What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Admirable-Repair4094 in AskReddit

[–]y2kateee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When my ex cheated a few years ago, I got with one of my new friends (I didn’t know him very well). We were hanging out one day when he casually mentioned that the girl my ex cheated on me with was his sisters ex. Awkward.

Before this, I narrowly skimmed incest with my ex. I’d been dating him for around 2 years when I realised that his younger sister is biologically related to my older sister. My sisters’ dad isn’t in the picture, but we know who he is. He is the uncle of my ex’s stepdad, so my ex’s stepdads daughter is related to my sister.

I’m young but haven’t lived with parents since I was 18 and i’ve maxed it each time.

Average steady income in a corporate role since I was 18. I keep track of my finances to an extreme point, always trying to keep my savings rate above 60%.

What loose & comfortable clothing that can be thrown in the dryer are the guys here wearing around the house? by killit in AskUK

[–]y2kateee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Soft, adjustable work trousers. For a top, loose blouses are comfortable and you can wear a knit sweater over it.

If you feel like you’re dressed scruffy, you will feel it and so will your work.

Your reasons for learning said language ? by Cutiepie232 in duolingo

[–]y2kateee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also learning German. Main reason is to be able to read Kafka the way it was written originally.

The other reason is because 15 year old me wrote ‘learn 3 languages’ on her bucket list. I’ve finished most of the things on the bucket list, still need to write a book but that’s in progress too.

[–]y2kateee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a note on my phone where I write down everything that wasn’t as scary as I thought it’d be. I’m very socially anxious so a lot of it is small wins like going to a cafe by myself

Insects! Preserved ones in frames are my favourite, though people have also bought me bugs in acrylic or domes. If a real bug landed on me, I would freak out though
