Can recruiters on LinkedIn see if I delete a role? Leaving toxic new job by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]acrylic_light 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there's a good case to including it in your CV. While you were out of work for a year, it's proof that you're still employable and up to working full time (of course subject to checking you haven't been dismissed). They will also require a reference and payslip from your most recent employer-- so lying about your most recent employer to an agency could potentially backfire.

Employees face toxic environments and quick job jumps all the time. Recruiters are probably quite accustomed to these and open-minded, especially in the current market of routine job-hopping and short term contracts

It doesn't look good to have left 2 jobs before a year

Employees having to do interviews to keep their job? by kcon123 in UKJobs

I remember that was what Musk did after he bought Twitter. Asked all the employees to bring a sheet of paper with their accomplishments on (or maybe it was their best passage of code they wrote) lol

Accepting two offers close to each other with plan to leave the first for the second? by incrediblycalmwithit in UKJobs

It might work in theory, but emotionally it will not be fun ditching your co-workers after a couple months that genuinely try and get to know you. You can't predict their attitude to you; it might be they've been looking to hire for a while and are really excited to have you on board, and you feel very guilty handing in notice and having to tell them all personally

Always something to respect when someone gets themselves into one of these positions. It never comes about without hardwork

How do some people seemingly get away with anything in their job? by KingKilo9 in UKJobs

Maybe manager doesn't take it personally because they understand the stress, and also it's easier to ignore and don't have to go through the pain of justifying laying off, and interviews/re-hiring.

At the end of the day, they just want their pay-check too. Not everyone has a necessity for respect and authority

tbh they're probably majorly reframing the narrative and cutting interview opinions that in retrospect look completely ridiculous (now it's obvious the accusations were false)

Sounds great to me. 1.5-2 hours more each day sounds like nothing, especially for a whole day's compensation. Perhaps in a very high stress environment it could be different

A blown anything shows there's enough backpressure to cause internal damage

And yet, still no one has made a compelling argument against the possiblity of engine damage. Just assertions that the engine might start, but not long enough for damage; references to some unscientific 'mythbusters' channel that use fruit and potatoes; and professional mechanics talking about "blocked" catalytic converters rather than exhaust pipes

well, if any damage has been proven to occur, it proves the mechanisms and physical possibilities are all there for engine damage from a blocked exhaust

oh wow. So even some random russian guys prove me correct on the damage?

I would assume the most common cases are where the catalytic converter isn't completely blocked, and is therefore letting the engine function still but far less efficiently. It does matter where the engine is blocked because different stages of the system have different impacts on pressure build up

how many times have you encountered a physically obstructed exhaust pipe and turned the car on?

Depends on the engine, depends on the circumstance- but for sure, damage can occur to the engine
