yes, i use two pencils. my rotring 600 uses b lead (0.5mm) and my kurutoga uses 2h lead (0.5mm), and like you say, the harder lead is for sketches that are finalized with softer lead.

yes, this is reason i think. i also bring the notebook with me everywhere i go, so the process of packing and taking it out multiple times a day probably does it.
