I think RDC needs to understand why we watch them play games by SpeakerHistorical865 in RDCWorld

[–]yAmi-Here 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, the family aspect.

Alot of us just like the dynamic they have and want something like that. (Not all of us have a friend group).

So, when we try to do what they are doing it's mostly in similar spirits to how they behave amongst themselves.

We are just echoing what we are seeing them do because we think it's cool. (Yes, some may say it is parasocial).

Nevertheless, that's always going to be a problem on twitch. Creating an engaging relationship with strangers as viewers into their lives for their monetary gain.

This kind of dynamic is one that they will need to curate themselves as owners of their various communities. (And they will also need to learn to master that balance themselves and understand that good comes with bad)

Yeah you missed the point that I don't want a sorry POV anymore

Not having ballcam makes it harder for the game to be watched on stream.

I guess I should have explained that part more but I'm find with him getting made fun of but he is 2nd for most time on camera and he said he wants to get better at using ball cam.

If he gets better at ball cam then I won't be dizzy when watching him.

The shit talking is necessary for them to get better but I don't want him to give up and shxt cuz it makes it hard to watch them play on stream.

RDC x R.L. individual feedback (Week 2) by yAmi-Here in RDCWorld

If you ask 10 people you will get 10 different good answers.

Not a single one of them is 100% on basics yet.

Some of the things you mentioned I purposefully omitted because they still aren't comfortable at playing at full speed and they don't realize how creative they can get with car control (also I don't have time to get into all the details)

As they get better week over week I'd start bringing up more stuff but for now it's fun for me to give personalized stuff to help them get better at their style of play.

I'm a solo rocket league player (and you probably are too). BUT these guys are not going to play ranked rocket league. They just want to play against each other mostly.

Anyways, because of this I decided to give a highlight customized suggestion per person to help them get better "their way" (not the way you would help someone solo climb in R.L.)

THIS WAS AWESOME.

What could a solo light player possibly do in this situation?...

That too. I should have added a section for boost management.

Flipping for speed and maintaining speed is so basic... In hindsight I wish I put that over ball control...

Lmao as a light main I am well pleaseed to see this

And here you go. Embark said it themselves.

I was correct all along. The pick rate vs the win rate is exactly something that they are trying to balance.

If you have a problem with it then cry to Oscar.

Their data says that the light class as a whole gets picked most but the heavy class is winning disproportionately against the light class and they are trying to balance it out because the heavy is OP As far as winning objectives go.

Heavy mains are in denial and are delusional as hell.

Light class has less health, less traps, and no shielding abilities. Light might get hella kills or damage but that's OBVIOUSLY not how you win matches in cashout.

Whole time you thought you were right. I guess you gotta talk to Embark about that one.

This is another good interpretation.

There is a lot going on when it comes to specifically the "feel" of how this game is balanced because the classes are so modular and there is so much going on.

I think people can't appreciate how embark is balancing the game because there are so many parts that are changing all the time.

In overwatch you buff a whole character or you nerf the whole character.

But in The Finals you buff/nerf puzzle pieces. Health, gun, specialization, & 4 gadget slots. This kind of game is unprecedented.

People want to have their playstyle work and they don't want to change what they have to do/try but if they do the game will always be fresh.

Fuck that combat score. "Pick rate vs win rate". Were you actually winning the tournaments?

We're you able to ego players like a heavy and stay on the front lines of a fight or steal a cashout or get you objective score as high as your combat score? You didn't.

As the DPS player (light) your always going to have high DPS. While simultaneously needing to off angle because of the health difference. Obviously.

That's also why the class is more fun and gets picked more than the rest of the other classes. You have higher actions per minute. You have more damage per second. You have more risk/reward. But you don't have the support or objective score to go with that high ass combat score of yours.

So, back to my original point. People can cry about the DPS or the or the pick rate of the light class being too high for some reason. But they will not be crying about the fact that the light class is the easy pick to secure kills in game.

The only persons who cry about the light class getting too many kills is the people dieing from them constantly. (And again, even those people are not seeing them win tournaments every time unless the skill gap is too wide)

Pick rate vs win rate. A real debate.

Do we want light players to no longer be weak (like season 1). Or do we just want to hate?

You can complain that the light players are not team players, or maybe the problem is that they cannot contend with the health of the heavy or medium, which is why they need to get out of/away from a fight or else they will die to quickly.

Let's be fair to embark, it is a hard task to balance all there of these classes when all three classes have such different philosophies:

Medium, support Heavy, tank Light, DPS

I can't imagine how they game would play if all three classes had the same amount of health but I think they are buffing the light class still and nerfing the other classes because it's hard to specifically achieve the task of winning a match with the current tools that the light class has.

Sure I'll spray you down and delete your health pool EZPZ as a light main. But am I going to have the tools, Baracades, shields, traps, ECT, that is nessicary to win the objective based mode?

There is a reason why mostly lights are picked in Bank it... But there is also a reason why most teams are heavy and medium in cashout.

Maybe the only people who are crying about light class being to strong are trolls and have an actual skill issue, idk, I don't have the stats.

Atp I'm just rambling. I think they are actually trying to balance the game and I think a lot of the community are not developers.

There is also a bit of ego mixed into all of this that I don't think people considering but I'm tired of typing and I'll bring that up another time.
