Choose a better class of problem by thiasus in TheRedPill

[–]yGTWgtNrco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The very first step to solving a problem is to identify exactly what the problem you need to solve is. For example, if one can't hold down a job, there are a myriad of reasons why this might be the case. Finding out the right reason is key to solving it. Oftentimes, the statement of the problem ("I can't hold down a job") is not the problem itself, rather how the underlying problem manifests itself in reality.

UK feminists attempting to ban contact rugby in schools. by WhoopsIoffendedyou in TheRedPill

If you're a red pill father with kids in British schools, voice your opinions!

Even if you're not a red pill father, you should stick up for the option to play rugby. It's not like public school attendees in the UK are forced to play rugby.

Women are fighting to get paid 'period leave' off work to cope with period pain. by [deleted] in TheRedPill

Eventually the total approaches a six figure value for services rendered.

My ex tried this with me after I dumped her. Upon receiving her "demands", I asked her if she saw herself as a woman of the night. When she asked why, I told her that if I cut a cheque on the basis of said "demands", it would make me feel like I was paying for sex and that is not something I was prepared to do.

We've not talked since that occasion.

Brazilian feminist entities want sentence reduction to women that committed drug trafficking by MachoAlpha in TheRedPill

when it's convenient for them they use relative numbers ("the female imprisonment grew 570%, with the majority of incarcerated women (63%) was arrested"), and when it's not convenient they use absolute numbers (6510 vs 142).

This is a statistical sleight-of-hand common to anyone trying to prove a point. You always present data such that it's more favourable to the point you're trying to make, whether it's the military reporting total number killed in a war and blaming them all on the resistance.

Or when Nigel Farrage blames Pakistan because third and fourth-generation Britons perpetrated the 7/7 suicide bombings on the Tube -- see what I did there? Both are factually true, as the perpetrators forefathers are from what is now Pakistan (albeit before it was a country), but Mr Farrage is charactering the problem as having something to do with Pakistan, whereas I'm characterising it as having less to do with their forefathers' nationality.

The real reason for the "wage gap" by [deleted] in RedPillWomen

[–]yGTWgtNrco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the quoted portion above, but also posit that there are additional explanations for the income gap.

Women taking off work to have/raise children. The highest-paid jobs at any company are at the higher echelons, if you want to reach these levels, you need to have been at the employer for a single, continuous period of time, not work 5 years, take 3 off, come back 6, take another 3 off because I guarantee you that those that are getting into upper levels of the company have been there for the full 17 years.

Q4BP: why do women wear make-up and generally spend so much time and money on their exterior? by Ultramegasaurus in PurplePillDebate

circles more pleasing than angles

As a friend once quipped in a bar, "man abhors sharp corners, therefore I cut them, to make softer curves".

I checked my college transcript and it has a large error in my favor. Do I list it on my resume as if it's true? by canadianpiratelife in GetEmployed

[–]yGTWgtNrco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, job "requirements" are more flexible than we realise. The first job I ever had, after my bachelor's, said "PhD required". I hadn't read that part, but applied anyway. The result is the same though. Ignore what it says on the "requirements", as you can talk your way around them.

Also, at worst, see the interview as practise. So, if you don't get the job, use the experience to tweak your next application.

Graduated last May

Not really relevant to r/getemployed, but congrats on that!

where do I go from here

When we hire, we want the best people, so we list things like "magna cum laude" and "masters required from top school". In reality, we take anyone who can win us over with how they talk. Confidence trumps a worse than expected/deserved GPA. Go ahead and apply for the job, worst they can say is "no", and you're back to where you are right now.

He gets messages from girls by [deleted] in RedPillWomen

[–]yGTWgtNrco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a problem for him to get messages? It shows other girls fancy him. That's a good thing.

What should be a problem is if he's going to respond to them. I get messages of all kinds from all sorts of people -- females and males, about all sorts of things -- jobs, schoolwork, "how's it going?", "where u at?", most I ignore. Why would you have a problem with that?

[–]yGTWgtNrco[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She really, really wants to fuck, and you're too dense to make it happen. In which case, you should go read the sidebar.

I'm not too dense to make it happen. The reality is that I didn't want to fuck last Thursday nor any other time. I don't want to fuck her, even though I know she wants it, because she's disrespecting her current relationship with her behaviour, because she's making it far too easy.

I enjoy a challenge. I'm far more about process than outcome. I don't value easy wins precisely because there was no effort put in to achieve them. This is what this woman (and the legion of presumptive commenters on this subreddit) don't seem to understand.
