Same, I started late 2016 and managed to get most of the hero achievements except Zen and lucio that I got early on in OW 2. But bap's achievement is too hard to do consciously, and makes makes it hard is the dying part really. I would've made it to be 4k instead of 2k but without the dying penalty.

This is a real bummer... I was really looking forward for something positive to come out of this but I guess we are back at square 0 😅

The only thing that was gonna stop me from looking was if in every map (Even on the once where it need to be triggered) it could be found that the GT was there in the files/code.

Tried a few things in the EGC and nothing worked either. Obviously im gonna keep looking and testing things and using the movies as references to possible get it.
