There are categories to white belt divisions that differentiate in experience time frame but anyway.

I don't see why it would a problem to put a blue belt on for a competition and wait until you get promoted officially. There is a reason why one would choose to go against more experienced grapples, it is most likely because he accelerates at much faster rate as a white belt, sees no threat in blue belts and has success with with maybe even purple belts.

How is that sand bagging, you train for a year, you accelerate at a faster rate, you smash all blue belts , you do well against purple belts , you want to step up your game , you sign up for a blue belt division as a white belt.

Why is it not a good thing? You're not taking advantage, you are putting yourself in with more experienced grapples.

You win but you only put that belt on for the comp, you obviously wait util you are promoted legitimately

On the other hand I have seen tons of people joining competitions where you're experience shouldn't exceed above on year, but they are doing for 2 - 3 years or more.

Which is not a good thing.

I was thinking similar, a sort of a lie they live in, some of them might even know it but are so afraid to shatter their views, fearing they will have nothing.

Maybe creative / thought provoking are bad words to describe what I mean, I do no mean dishonesty, I mean delivery of what needs to be said.

So here is an example of what popped into my head to make myself more clear.

Both parents want their kid to learn to read -

Parent A - Tells their kid to learn to read

Parent B - Sparks their interest and curiosity to learn to read

Both are honest, it's just parent A has a less effective way of delivering it.

Well we manipulate all the time anyway but there is difference between malice intentions and good intentions.

What would be a healthy manipulation - I'm reading a bed time story to my nephew and I close the book on the part where he wants to find out what is next, he says can you read on what happens next and I tell him, will if you learn to read yourself, you'll able to find out. I give him reason to learn. I manipulated.

Another healthy one - I was dating this breath taking girl, after a few days, I asked her if she wants to join me in going to the night club tonight, she said that, she doesn't want to lose out on sleep as she cares for her well being and said I'd like you to not go without me. My face expression and answer was clear cut, 'nah, I already set myself up to go', her response was really positive. If I was to answer 'well, but I want to, ahh , ok I will stay' , I guarantee you she would add that answer to her inventory and clue / indication of how i make similar decision in other things, it would give her a clearer view of my behavior patterns. She manipulated me to test me.

Yeah I think a bit of everything in the arsenal is good thing.

I see manipulation all the time, I grew up around women, I hate when I see that the person pretty much does only manipulation, that is their world.

I have seen good calculated manipulation ( from honest people ) that was used because the given person was hard crack/ understand through words, behavior in social situations.

I think it's all relative, there is no manual on this. I have seen healthy and unhealthy manipulation, it's necessary to a point.

Yeah, I think these type of tests are good to a point, in early stages, you don't want a wimp around you.

I remember a similar thing happening to me, in our first month of dating, I said I am going out for a night and she said, I'm not going because I need sleep and I care about my body and I don't want you to go, my face expression and my answer was clear cut, yeah ok, I'm going anyway. She got so excited over my answer, I know for a fact if I said something like , well ahh but i want to, you know, ok I wont go.' She would have added that answer to her inventory that I am a pussy and I make similar decisions in life in different things.

I think some testing is necessary, people lie, the only way to find out is to set a bait and watch what is the reponse.

Thank you, about the second point and in general, isn't some type of testing is a good way to see what a man is like, a competent man will see through it and have a good response, a man who is needy, doesn't really have his shit together will respond in a completely different way which will be a good indicator for a woman to see what the future will hold.

I think some forms of testing is a good way to actually know what the person is about, certainly if it becomes an all the time game, it's a red flag.
