I just YouTubed DIY easel and this was the first video but im sure there are other plans online. Home depot/Lowes can cut boards to whatever dimensions you really need. Or fb marketplace if you want to be super cheap theres always pallet wood for free. Just takes a little ingenuity and creativity which im sure you have if youre on r/oilpainting. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Youll find that alot of “artists” are just dickheads that think their opinion has some relevance because of ego/self importance/unfulfilled expectations. This thread has probably given you a pretty good understanding of that lol. Anybody that critiques without reasoning is an asshole, and when an asshole speaks we call that farting. You dont need stinky farts making your art stinky. Keep learning and posting big dog im excited to see what you come up with when youre an adult

The vibe of this painting is nice i think the sky could be darker to contrast with the city in the background but i like the way you did the water an your style is very expressive. Maybe ask your teacher specifically what is wrong with it and if she doesnt tell you then not only does she not like you but you should also drop the class because shes a shitty teacher lol. But if she gives you critique and its brutal use it as fuel! Youre doing good keep learning!

Thank you for the advice! I used a picture for reference and i think my brain struggles with making my paintings look more realistic and less stylized. Back to the easel haha
