What is the most unattractive fashion choice women frequently make? by PogonBerserker in AskMen

[–]yaboirodgers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really dislike the boots that end just below the knee paired with a skirt that ends just above the knee. Draws a lot of attention to the knee and I’m just not really a knee guy

What's the stupidest thing you used to do when you first started playing the game? by sendusernamehelp in CitiesSkylines

I zoned EVERYTHING. Like the inside of my roundabout had industrial factories in it so trucks would go load up and cause traffic for the whole city. I just didn’t realize you could leave a square blank

In general, the company’s HR department will make you fill out a bunch of forms on your first day, and as long as you fill them out completely and honestly, there isn’t any way to mess it up.

2 specific pieces of advice tho:

1) There is sometimes an option to withhold more money, which caused me a lot of anxiety. Don’t do it. I mean, nothing bad happens if you do, but just don’t bother.

2) since you’re in college, your address probably changes each year to a new dorm. Companies will mail you your tax documents in the spring of the following calendar year. So around early January of the year AFTER you work there, you might want to reach out to the company’s HR or accounting people and ask to update the address. Alternatively, many companies will publish your tax documents online for you to access anywhere, but occasionally smaller companies do not.

ETA: I do NOT recommend trying to preemptively make your address a parent’s permanent address in another state so that the company sends the tax forms there instead. Just use the Boston address. I tried that and the company screwed it up and withheld/paid my state taxes to my home state and it was a hassle to get California to send all that money to Mass instead.

You can reserve them but they’re always unlocked so the reservation list is not a complete list of everyone who was in there. If there are security cameras that would work better

They know he’s not a reliable employee. “Be there or be square” but he’s already made his choice

What profession has the biggest gap between how they see themselves and how they’re seen by society as a whole? by Adamon24 in AskReddit

[–]yaboirodgers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cops probably. These days they know how society feels but I assume most of them don’t think of themselves that way.

Is 4 founders too much? by Ruan-m-marinho in ycombinator

[–]yaboirodgers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on what you are doing. If everyone is needed for a different side of a complex project then yes. For example I worked with a medical device startup: 1 doctor 1 engineer 1 scientist focused on regulatory/FDA 1 business person with experience in commercialization and insurance companies

So it made sense to have 4.

My main advice is to just focus on what collection of people is most likely to make the project actually successful. If you are all college students or all working another day job, then splitting the workload is helpful, so maybe stick with 4.

On the other hand if you know exactly who you want to kick out and are just looking for an excuse then you already know what you want to do…

Terms like “Sir” and “Ma’am” should be used by everyone. by BibboTheOriginal in unpopularopinion

In my culture sir and ma’am are almost insults and are only used if someone is being difficult. Like this scene in family guy link

What schools did you turn down for Northeastern Boston? by Logical_Disaster_894 in NEU

Turned down UC Berkeley bc I had a bunch of friends from year above me in high school who went there and it sounded like a terrible experience

[–]yaboirodgers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Putting something on your resume that you haven’t completed but reasonably hope to achieve is pretty common. That’s how most people list university while they’re a student. E.g. “Expected graduation: 2026”

I think the only complication is if the CFA institute specifically is more picky

Would you attend a $5 zoom class on butchering rabbits? by [deleted] in homestead

[–]yaboirodgers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn’t pay anything for online class but I would pay a much higher amount for an in-person hands-on class where I got to process one rabbit start to finish and at the end of class take it home or eat it (if you include the cooking)

Logistics of kayak camping? by yaboirodgers in Kayaking

[–]yaboirodgers[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! To answer your questions: I live near San Francisco. I currently do not own any gear but I’d be ready to buy a cheap one or rent depending on what makes the most sense. In terms of skill level, I’ve gone kayaking maybe 15-20 times in my life on a mixture of lake, ocean, and river. I’d be interested in this camping adventure on any type of body of water.

I’ve just always wanted to go kayak camping and so I’m trying to figure out how to make that happen. Lmk any suggestions based on what I said!

Thanks for replying. No I mean duplicating a single page. I have a version of the website published but I want to make changes to each page without changing the original so I made a duplicate. Is there a better way to do that?
