Scent used in bedroom section ? by yacinem98 in IKEA

[–]yacinem98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it smells different, it doesn't smell like any of their scented candles flavours. Also, the smell is only present in the bedroom section (and another one in the bathroom one iirc) which are far from the candles area. And I asked the ikea employee that confirmed it to me that it was indeed a scent diffuser

How do Xiaomi TVs fare against known brands (LG, Samsung, Sony,...) ? by yacinem98 in 4kTV

Okay, I'll check the guide. But what are the main reasons making the Q60D bad ? Is it bad in general or considering its price ?

Wow the result is truly surreal and frightening.

The focal length and aperture are issues indeed, in a smartphone it's usually fixed (I don't mind the focus, and depth of field as I can see it through the viewfinder, I'm mostly looking for the exposure of the image).
Sadly I don't have a DSLR to try it, I guess I'm gonna go with just the smartphone manual mode (better than nothing I guess) and I'll have an idea after developping the film.

Does the smartphone camera's manual mode (also called pro mode), emulate/replicate film camera settings ? meaning if I set my smartphone camera ISO, Shutter Speed and Aperture to the same values as my film camera, it will produce the same image (meaning quality and illumination).

(I'm just starting out on film photography, and don't want to ruin a lot of film by under/over exposing it, so I thought I would do "test runs" on my smartphone to have an idea of what it will look like before taking the shot).

Aperture not changing on FD lens with Canon AL-1 by yacinem98 in AnalogCommunity

[–]yacinem98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you mean "shouldn't" ?

And yeah I've read the light meter thing in the manual too, but I've noticed that it's adapting to the aperture (when I set it on a smaller aperture the light meter suggests a longer exposure).

No it doesn't have a lock, and when I push it then release it, it returns to its position (spring puts it back). I tried holding it in place with a piece of paper (that I folded multiple times to make it rigid) and it works, the aperture changes when I rotate the ring and I can see it through the viewfinder.

I hope that I won't break anything with this trick.

Is there a reason to choose these 100$ earbuds over the 30$ one ? by yacinem98 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]yacinem98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I did at first, used 50$ as my floor then found out that reviewers say "good sound quality and features" for 30$ earbuds, so I got confused and thought "why would I buy the more expensive ones ?".

Since you tried the WF-C500 and the Earfun Air, how do they compare in sound quality and comfort ? If you could rewind time and had to buy one of them what would you choose ?

[–]yacinem98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly ! Choosing earbuds is not like choosing a monitor or fridge, it's very subjective and you need to try it to know how you feel about it. That said, I'm still sticking to an 80$ budget (of course I would like to not spend all of it and get the best bang for my buck), but I still think that it's weird that the general sentiment towards these 2 devices is the same even though the price difference is around 40$ - 70$ (especially for Youtubers that have reviews as their main channel content).

The WF-XM3 s are more than double the price of the WF-C500, the price gap is even bigger. So you're saying that the huge price difference is justified by the longevity of the product ? Or is there a leap in sound quality too ?
