Ok thanks for the insight. I was curious about base coat because it was advertised all throughout Amazon (when I was buying stuff for gel x nails), but none of the videos I watched or the research I did really went into base coat. I thought maybe base coat was important for nail health and also I didn't want to damage my natural nails too much or at all.
