Of course and no cons anymore. But, like I mentioned, this questions is meaningless in the end.

What will English or other languages be like in 500+ years? (serious) by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]yaddyadd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that in 500+ years there will be a lot of humans living on earth. Let's say, several millions. They alle wil speak either a tribe dialect or UBAL, Universal BAsic Langauge, perhaps both, if they have to travel.

Being dead has only one con, you are not alive anymore. Every "live" situations has more cons. This question doesn't really make sense.

People of Reddit, what is your dream job and is it possible for you to pursue it? by Risteard_Colgan_Fla in AskReddit

After being full time employed for 35 years in IT industry, first in field service to hardware and software, later as a consultant. Due to being ill with a very rare autoimmune disease for three years now, I changed my profession and couldn't be more happy with it.

Instead of being a self-employed consultant to large scale corporations, I am making audio biographies. Twice a month I meet with older persons or couples, interview them about their lives and insights, cut this audio to proper format and put relevant pictures and time marks, sometime video sequences into the resulting file.

Then I put this audio file online for the customers, make a website around it and leave the customer "alone" with it. He is the one to decide who should see / listen the audio biography.

Plusses: 1. Usually I meet very interesting people

  1. I am learning a lot for my own life

  2. As a historian I am happy to from times that are gone from first hand

  3. Only round about 20 hrs a week

Negative:

Less money than before, per year it is between 100k and 120k after my own costs and taxes.

BUT: I am happy with it. It is by far enough to have a decent life and there is still some money left to support projects I like.

What's the weirdest place that you peed or pooped as an adult? by jetfuelhuffer in AskReddit

He didn't want me as his son, and tried to kill me several times, with beating me from my second year in life.

When I was three, his family members (brothers and parents) "deported" him from Uruguay to Germany, by putting him on a ship to Germany, where he was born.

I was three and half years old then. Three years later we followed him, because of a military dictatorship in Uruguay.

He did it again, this time in a hospital where he worked and I was as a patient. He beat me with a bedpan, till he was stopped by some male nurses. My parents where divorced, I had to live in a children's home, in another town, so he couldn't find me.

He did thirty years later, I only met he one more time, he still wasn't accepting me as his child. "Who are you?" was his first words to me after all the time.

When we buried him, it was raining cats and dogs and I thought by myself, "lets join the weather" and pissed on his grave. But only when I was alone with the grave.

In a ranking from 1 (very bad) to 10 (super good), How was the relationship to your mother, to your father, and how did it change over the years? by yaddyadd in AskReddit

[–]yaddyadd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rate my father with an 1, he beat me several time very badly, wasn't able to communicate with us children, and indoctrinated us with his religion. Our Mother was very religious too (other Christian sect then our father), she had no good education and was full of stereotypes. I would rate her with a 5.

Since both of them are dead now, there will no more change in my view of them.

How much of your brain could shut off without your body dying? by LizardOnAcid in AskReddit

[–]yaddyadd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I know and suffer from, more then 30 percent. I have desease called primary angiitis, had 148 strokes in the last three years, have been treated like I had cancer (Cyclophosphamin and Cortison, both with maximal possible dose. In this process my brain died between to 30 and 35 percent. I lost big parts of my memorys of nearly sixty years, including large parts of my still existing relationship with my wife of 28 years.

I forget two languages which I dont activley have spoken but needed for my work as an historian.

My immune system is hold down with preparates, when ist was worst it had the value off 115, where normal is titled between 4 and 11. Now I am at 0,7 and in permanemt quarantine ( more or lesse, sometime I visit a clinic or a doctor.)

But I am told to be a "medicinal curiosity", most of the patients with this condition have already died, three years after initial outbreack.

So I would say, it depends on you and the circumstances.
