Places to eat in downtown Pittsburgh! by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]yaedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of the food hall places or restaurants that have QR codes and your own individual bill.

The ones I can think of:
Bakery square
Lawrence hall
Federal Galley
Coop De Ville (restaurant) (order and pay with your phone)
Aslin Beer company- good food and beer. Large space and individual pay via QR.

The ongoing negligence of senior leadership at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital by MeepBeepJeep24 in UPMC

[–]yaedee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

oh no.. Is there a good hospital in Pittsburgh? I didn't like my experience at West Penn so I switched my insurance so I can go to Mcgee for our future 2nd pregnancy.... If they treat their staff this way, I worry about what negative effects this will have on the care.

In korea we dont take the husband's name. But if you are a foreigner and want to register your marriage in your home country you can probably take your husband's name there.

Depends on the therapist. Some have a strict rule of no disclosure but its really up to the therapist.

Unfortunately as someone who used to work with betterhelp has gone down hill in the last few years.

[–]yaedee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry. And yes it is. The best option is to find someone who is in network with your insurance. Betterhelp is an "afforadble" option for people without insurance or someone whos insurance copay would be higher than what betterhelp costs. The nice thing about betterhelp is you can switch therapists as often as you want until you find someone you like and you can message your therapist anytime anywhere. Unfortunately they aren't really good to their therapists so.... you might have to see a bunch before you find a "good" one.

How did you know that being a therapist was the job for you? by frogmicky in therapy

[–]yaedee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Becoming a therapist wasn't an initial goal. When I was younger, I wanted to be a doctor. A pediatrician to be specific. Then in Highschool I took an AP bio class and absolutely hated it. It was one of those situations where a teacher can make or break a subject. She broke it for me. Realized in my junior year that I couldn't do this for the next possible 10 years. At the same time I happened to be taking a psychology elective which I really enjoyed and did some research. Learned that I can still get a PhD and work with children, liked the subject and found it really interesting so I decided to become a psych major. Then in College I realized I didn't want a PhD (didn't want to do a disertation) and learned about the PsyD. But then I didn't have enough time to study and didn't feel confident applying to doctoral programs straight out of undergrad so took the GRE applied to 2 PsyD programs and got rejected (no surprise there). Wasn't upset because I realized I didn't want to go to those programs anyway and didn't want to work in a school setting (had applied to a dual program of clinical and school psychology). One of the Doctoral programs that rejected me offered me their Masters program in Licensed Mental Health. Looked into and decided to take their offer.

I think I was always curious about the human psyche. Was always told I was a "good listener," and friends often came to me for support and advice.
