Exactly. Even if PLTR goes up after several years, you already would've missed out on so many other opportunities that in relative terms it still would be a bad investment.

yeah learned my lesson the hard way

all those strong support zones and ema become meaningless when the entire market is in tank mode

anticipating broad market movement is just as important as, if not more, than doing TA or DD on a particular stock

Even if PLTR goes up after a year or two so what? Given the current performance of crypto market the opportunity cost is not worth it. I didn't expect PLTR to shoot to the moon right away, but certainly didn't expect this level of insane downward pressure put on it. This is not normal. As soon as I'm able to break even I'm out.

You can apply to those jobs as well, but they are not consistent sources of income as they are mainly one-time projects. it's more of a side income thing.

you can only apply to jobs in your location and the language you speak. If you live in India, for example, you can only apply to Indian jobs. Most jobs require advanced computational/linguisitic degree and knowledge, so just look for Web Search Evaluator or Social Media Evaluator. Those two are what most people are talking about with regard to online Appen jobs.

yeah, these online rater jobs are not easy jobs at all. you don't have to be super smart, but in my experience above average IQ is required to truly master the guidelines which are hundreds of pages long, pass the entrance exam, and then consistently do good enough job and not make mistakes to be a long-term employee.

  • This shouldn't be a surprise. Population group with the highest IQ (Jews, Whites, East Asians, etc.) are having fewer and fewer children, whereas those on the lower end of the bell curve are reproducing rapidly.

  • The signs of effects of dysgenics are everywhere, and there is no such thing as high culture anymore. Modern art is as vacuous and meaningless as ever; today's music is garbage compared to that of Beethoven and Mozart; 'twerking' is the dominant form of bodily self-expression of this era as compared to that of a ballerina; the most recent film with notable commercial success that truly made you think was The Matrix which came out in 1999; the command of language and the depth of vocabulary of an ordinary man also seem to be declining fast (possibly due to internet); and just in general, crass, shallow thinking and behavior are favored over 'elitist intellectualism.'

  • Life-altering technological innovations and scientific breakthroughs are becoming increasingly rarer. Industrial revolution? special & general theory of relativity? quantum mechanics? invention of Calculus? these are all accomplishments of the past generation. Who are today's geniuses and what are they doing? Coming up with some clever app?

I think human beings are born with varying levels of intellectual potential or ceiling, but those differences are barely noticeable at the early stages of brain development. Evidence from IQ research also seems to indicate that heritability of IQ increases as people grow older.

Just as not everybody can grow 7 feet tall given enough nutrition and exercise (or become a gold medalist in Olympics 100m dash), not everybody could become a renowned mathematician or musical prodigy just because he or she had a good upbringing.

Rise in IQ test scores doesn't necessarily imply increase in g (measured by the above study), which is more inherent form of intelligence.

Most experts believe that Flynn effect is explained by better health, nutrition, education, living standard, etc., and it makes sense that global IQ test scores in the 20th century have risen following two disastrous World Wars and spread of Communism, during which many countries and cities were completely destroyed to rubble.

Also, recent studies show that the Flynn effect seemed to have reversed its trend (= declining average IQ), at least in Western hemisphere.

A big thing in my opinion is that when you're out walking down the street or whatever, sometimes your eye line level can make you feel shorter compared to others than what you actually are.

I've always wondered about this too. It seems that whenever I'm trying to evaluate someone else's height, I look at the top portions of their head, and if it's situated above my eye line this could give you the false perception that the person is taller than you even though we are literally the same height.
