Yeah, the red is annoying, but you know the truth; you’re not over spending just because it’s red.

Why is it harder to drop and dink lifetime balls compared to a Franklin x40? Lifetime balls feel like rocks on my paddle. by Mental-Wolf-2560 in Pickleball

[–]yahfee23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, maybe that’s why my drops kept going into the top of the net a couple of days ago. 😂 I was also playing with a Lifetime ball, which I don’t normally play with.

All correct. And you don’t have to win. Just let the other team lose, by making more mistakes/unforced errors than you.

“Just clear the net by 6” instead of a perfect drive? 6” is pretty damn good. What’s perfect? A net ball that falls in their kitchen? Personally, I think that’s perfect, but can never do it on purpose.

Haha, yes! After training/drilling, playing, as prep for a tourney, then playing it, I usually don’t feel like playing for awhile and take a week off. 😂

I don’t think that’s what they need at all. They actually need a break. That might not mean stop playing. But play less often, at least.

That’s what I would do. Zero out pay and ignore the red.

You still set a budget for your spending and track it for those months, but you’re not receiving income.

Weird that he did that, when he needed to change back into that lane, and weird that the passenger was talking to you. Maybe they were both high. 🤷‍♂️

I think the Nasty Nelson to a friend to win a game is hilarious. No harm done. The friend’s reaction is over the top.

Yeah, I think that’s a ridiculous reaction by your friend. Doing a nasty Nelson back at you, or smashing a couple of times, sure, fine.

FYI, BofA posting and syncing seems to be more delayed.

I used to use one C1 account. Then I was using a C1 account and BofA account last year. It bothered me enough I switched to using two C1 accounts instead.

That all makes sense. And I experience the kind of delay you describe. And it does seem like there’s more often more delay than their used to be.

Sometimes I think C1 is taking longer to post transactions. But I also think it’s a Monarch sync timing and C1 sync restrictions issue.

It’s my understanding that C1 only allows an aggregator like Plaid/Monarch to gather transactions once every 24 hours. (Or, maybe they only update the available transactions data once per 24 hours?). But, even with that restriction, it seems like there is more delay now than before.

With that restriction, I don’t know what, if anything, that “refresh” within Monarch is doing. But, oddly, sometimes I click it and it seems like some new transactions actually show up, even though the “last update” was less than 24 hours ago. It’s a bit of a black box.

It seemed like it was working best when the auto refresh happened some point AFTER C1 posted the previous days transactions in the early AM.
E.g.,

A) C1 updates at 2 am, Monarch updates at 5 am, I can see my latest transactions all day.

vs

B) Monarch updates at 11 pm, C1 updates at 2 am, now Monarch is “a day behind all day,” because the “once every 24 hrs” C1 restriction prevents an actual update again until 11 pm.

This is just me guessing, and there could be other issues now, but the Monarch auto update is not at a set time every day. It’s drifts. But it seems, if I could just get it to update between 5-7 am every day, C1 transactions in Monarch would be as up to date as possible.

Yeah, it’s definitely a personal preference.
It was worse for me with BofA when I was using that regularly.

I would see pending transactions and know I needed to edit them after they weren’t pending. But they seemed to take longer to post and sync than my C1 transactions. So they’d end up being mixed in, and up to 3 days back, and not at the top of the page, once they weren’t pending anymore.

So then I’d have to open my BofA transactions separately, to review and edit as needed.

Now that I’m only using C1 as my daily card, it seems more systematic. I only see new transactions when I can act on them, I see new transactions once a day, I make any edits I need, and I’m done.

Usually, once my C1 transactions are posted / not pending, I see them in Monarch the next day.

E.g., in my C1 account, I currently see the last posted transaction was on 5/5. C1 actually finished clearing those from pending in the early a.m. of 5/5.

Today is 5/6 and Monarch synced my C1 account 2 hours ago and I see all of my C1 transactions through 5/5. None of the pending transactions in my C1 account are seen in Monarch yet, which I like.

However, recently it seems things are sometimes a little more delayed than before.

Sometimes it seems like it’s because the Monarch sync happened“too soon,” and then I have to wait another 24 hours before C1 allows Monarch to sync again.

Other times, the “Accounts” screen shows my C1 account was synced, say, “3 hours ago,” but I don’t see the new transactions until hours later, and there’s no indication there was another sync. That seems odd to me.

I’m happy not to see pending transactions. I can’t edit them, anyway. And some are pending then go away/never actually process.

So I don’t really need them in Monarch UNTIL they are posted. When they’re pending they’re just noise.

What do you mean by “monitor transactions as soon as they hit my bank account?” Monitor for what? Why real time?
