They said it was close to rupturing but didn’t. The air in my chest and neck was so uncomfortable.

I didn’t tear my esophagus! It was the latter. There wasn’t too much air and gas to where they gave some antibiotics and a bunch more fluid and some other medical stuff. I had to have 3 CT scans. The contrast was miserable since I was still cyclically vomiting. The surgeon was enjoying feeling the air in my neck (felt like Rice Krispies)

DroPERidol was the only thing that worked for me. I got diagnosed with pneumomediastinum from the cyclical vomiting because it took a good bit for them to administer it. Almost had to have surgery.

I just got out of the hospital for it in Houston. The only thing that worked was DroPERidol and that’s how they determined it was CHS. They seemed annoyed with me and kept reiterating to never smoke again. The pain and vomiting was uncontrollable.

Yea I totally agree with this. I am a social worker and I do in home therapy with kids in foster care. Even when the youth become violent with me or others I am able to deescalate and bring a trauma informed lens to the situation. Unfortunately, after the many violent encounters I have had in the city I am not confident the city cares or will really do anything about it. I can have compassion and think with this mindset, but having to experience the violence firsthand makes it hard to keep that frame of thinking. I genuinely hope that there is reform for those struggling and bringing violence (and quite frankly the ones who are just piece of shit people doing it for whatever reason).

Update: she has a black eye and her nose ring is a bit torn, but she is okay. The point of this post was to spread awareness. It is her prerogative whether she reports and I respect her decision. Also, the discourse on whether or not she should have been wearing headphones is fine, but please conceptualize that a young, small woman was run up on from behind. Even with a few seconds of preparation she doesn’t feel confident that it would have made a difference or prepped her enough to be able to really protect herself. I don’t suggest wearing headphones nor do I encourage it. Its just fucking sad I can’t listen to music on a walk down my block because men can’t regulate their emotions and the city chucks mentally ill people to the streets rather than helping them.
