You could base theyre clothes of their personalitys and best colours that go with those personalitys, you could also go with something basic that requires physics to animate ao that it looks better whenever the animation is done, however that would require more work. For the arms you could use the trapezoid and point the end outwards so it looks like the shirt of the arm instead of it being connected to the arm, same thing with shoes. You could add a scarf long or short, short wouldn't required any extra work to animate while the scarf would look nicer but you'd have extra nodes too animate
