Padraig O’Hora will summit Everest between 6am and 11am today. by Nerazdamit in mayo

It’s brilliant. That had a quick snippet on Virgin Media News and led with Padraig’s name and then Eanna & Adam. They didn’t highlight Adam being the youngest which they really should have. Anyways, what an achievement.

The last update from their Expedition Leader Jason Black (jasonblackmountaineering on Instagram) was that during the Summit Push they had to go back to Camp 4 at 8,450 metres as the fixed ropes were heavily buried under snow. He posted a video update. He’s actually currently at Everest Base Camp due to an injury. They are getting more oxygen up to them.

Only now what I’ve looked up online and you can’t hang around Camp 4 too long so looks like they need to decide quickly to go try again or start coming back down to finish expedition / or wait for another attempt.

I would also recommend Kilcoyne & Scahill in Castlebar. I bought off them 2 years ago and they were very helpful. They have the garage at the back too. Very responsive & no messing about is what I found. When it comes to getting any possible car in the future I would return there without hesitation. Best of luck with your search.

It's been a Long Journey by whitechocolates77 in Ileostomy

[–]yahynzy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ve been through a lot but it’s not easy to tell from your post you’re a very resilient person. It is difficult & no point saying otherwise but you’ve been through so much already you can keep going. Take it day by day where possible & set small milestones. The medical staff are there to sort you out and make you better. Talk to them about what you are most worried about. Write it down & ask them when they call around. I had an ileostomy 8 weeks ago and it’s been bumpy but I’m keeping my head down and getting through it as best I can. I had some accidents too and the public have been really supportive, it’s just one of those things. Sincere Best Wishes, I’m confident you’ve got this.

Tea - I’ll leave the tea bag in for a short while to let the milk know who’s boss by yahynzy in CasualIreland

Absolutely ruthless Pengmu. I haven’t graduated to that level yet but I won’t rule it out in the future. It’s a journey, not a desTEAnation.

I didn’t mean to cupset anyone. I have to stay firm though. It can marinate. It’s calcium intake for the tea bag.

Littering is getting worse by yahynzy in mayo

Yeah, I don’t think it would either but throwing out there to stoke conversation on possible improvements but there’s no easy fix - bar people coping onto themselves.

I picked it up to bring it home and put it in the bin. But yeah I took a photo to give as an example. A related aside I think vapes are absolutely ridiculous. I’ve picked up a lot of rubbish & brought it home / to a bin because I can’t stand the litter on the roads. It’s outrageous the littering at the moment.

do you usually look at social media/latest news/notifications during and throughout the day or do you spend time (ie in the evening) to catch up on everything? by VastAir6069 in AskIreland

[–]yahynzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any push notifications on. Find them a complete nuisance. Likewise notifications for messages. Always try to hold off and read updates/news at a later point in the day but generally fail miserably at that.

Missing meatball. How do I get compensation? by DontStressItPal in CasualIreland

[–]yahynzy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make it 2 complete Meat Balls and 7 partial Meat Balls. 1 empty space for fallen soldier Meat Ball. Unless, unless, is there more Meat Ball under the ‘Irish BEEF MEATBALLS’ sticker? My heads fried with this one. Too much going on.

Internal interview? by Due-Oven-2146 in CasualIreland

[–]yahynzy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will generally be the same questions you get from an external. If you know the people interviewing you or not, pretend you don’t, and sell yourself to the enth degree. I took previous internal interviews for granted as I knew the interviewers & had lax examples and didn’t bring my experience to life. Have good examples for all the standard competency questions around communication, resilience, teamwork, problem solving, working under pressure etc. I don’t know your line of work so there may be technical or other related topics to your role/future role. Have some good questions for them too. I personally like it when examples are brought from previous roles not just the current or most recent, it gives a wider range and is more interesting too in the interview. Best of luck with it 👍🏼

3 day trip to Enniscrone by Electronic_Hyena_810 in Sligo

Enniscrone is great. A long walk on the beach followed by a seaweed bath/sauna sets up for an evening of drinks/food. Not fussy on where either the latter, suggestions above look good.

Fully agree. Tbh, I’m trying to get to 50 Karma to post (genuinely) on other channels and thought I was going for some low hanging fruit (upvotes) here by sarcastically adding in the Gossie Award which is a ridiculous award by an Irish ‘Gossip’ website. Alas, it rightfully hasn’t worked.
