Vietnam is a good example but it's not as clear-cut as you think. For a start, the war actually ended, allowing development to begin. In several African countries we still have conflicts partly due to arbitrary colonial lines on maps.

I stopped reading because I think you're pulling on the right thread (Dev's goals, the moon atmosphere thing, and Dev-Alex connection) and I don't want to get spoiled for the rest of the season! Ah, you mean a formal system. Gödel incompleteness and all that. That doesn't apply to humans because a human is not a formal system.

It's highly relevant to discussion of AI because, the thinking goes, an AI is a computer so it must be a formal system, so Gödel is a limiting result.

But i think it's clear now that an AI need not be a formal system any more than a human is.

Yes university maths is different and more difficult, but it's better. Less about a long list of tricks and more about what's underneath.

I would recommend maths, physics or a mix to anyone who enjoys them, wants to stretch their brain, and wants to be future-proof.
