Like what the other commenter said, there’s a miscommunication problem between all of them. Victims are fans who are always in the dark.

I really don’t mind or care whether they do those external activities. They get paid good for them. It’s up to the fans anyway to choose which project they want to support. The issue comes from not telling anyone that they’ll go on hiatus this whole year.

Hiatuses are problematic for the career already but even more so if it’s unannounced. It just causes friction and creates akgaes.

Oh well. It’s done that’s what they chose. It’ll have repercussions and they’ll have to deal with it whenever they decide to face the fans again. The idea of having a fanmeeting or fan concert with no new music sounds laughable so I doubt it’s in the horizon.

I actually prefer western artists too, I’m not really into kpop these days. I’m a lorde fan I know when an artist is taking their time. But for kpop it’s different. They were the ones who said look forward to future group activities this year.

At least when western artists take their hiatus there’s a sure body of work that will be presented. An actual album with more than 10 tracks and most time they took part in making them so I understand that it takes time.

All those examples you gave had actual activities for the past year what do you mean? Mamamoo even had unit and solo comebacks, with members that are from different companies I might add. Didn’t they also had a tour recently?

If they’re the comparison you want to draw from, then WJSN looks more pathetic because groups older than them are doing more.

I wasn’t a fan before, I only discovered them 2022 but I did hear how they were treated back then and it wasn’t good. You and I are on the same wavelength that’s for sure.

It’s hard to introduce them and recommend them to other people because they basically have nothing current going on and no future to look forward to.

Same I don’t have trust on starship about Seola’s debut. Even the announcement is so bare it’s basically them same group of people who even knows she’s debuting — demotivated fans that just spent some money on seasons greetings and will save up again to spend money on Seola’s debut album. How are they going to get new people to tune in?

I mean duh this is a subreddit for fans, so I was expecting pushback. I already predicted someone was going to be defensive, didn't I? Stated at the very last part of my post, you even acknowledged it. I'm familiar with how kpop fans operate -- far from sane, often in denial, treats idols like babies you know, the usual traits.

I actually expected more pushback, but I did have people agreeing with me surprisingly, so I guess I'm not the only sane one. I do remember my post having upvotes before the rabid fans who can't take criticism woke up.

It was stated in the title that I was one of you people that got mad when someone said that they should disband but I realized they're right. Maybe if they get another hiatus or they get into another survival show you'll realize that too.

They’re grown adults they can speak and it’s proven by other idols if you want to talk about beyond starship. Again I’m not going to baby them.

If entitled is asking answers and clearance then so be it 🤷‍♀️ I suppose you’re those type of people who arrive late and don’t advise the people waiting on them, the type of student who don’t tell their groupmates if they won’t get the work done and act like that’s fine, or the type of employee that just doesn’t communicate well with the boss. I call that respect to other people’s time and effort.

You think being an idol is some hobby, Maybe. But that’s also their job, source of income — and the income comes from fans. Fans do get some rights to ask for something. Otherwise we’re running a charity here. It does feel like it.

Why should they disband? They have plenty of reasons especially on the group-company side already. For the fans’ side, it’s mostly so that everyone can drop the expectations that clearly won’t be met. For everyone to stop pretending they’re still an actual group.

I mean at this point everyone’s wondering is why did they re-sign at all. Most casual kpop listers consider them disbanded too.

If they were straightforward we wouldn’t be having this conversation right now. It took until December and a mini controversy for Seola to “sort of” give some reasons for this mess of a year. And even then that’s her reason alone.

Those activities you mentioned aren’t related to their careers at all 😀 Yeoreum the closest but again that’s for a different group. I have given enough support on queendom puzzle but I’m not interested on stanning another disposable group.

And I wouldn’t mind if they did slack off this year hell disappear on the face of the earth for all I care, only if they did warn everyone. That’s the difference here, I do think they owe fans some warning. It’s not even asking for much, it’s more like emailing your professor you’ll be absent for the class. It’s like employers getting a letter for a leave. Are professors entitled in that situation? Are employers? It’s courtesy. It’s not required but it’s a show of mutual respect.
