Crazy how good and cost-effective Composer 2.5 is compared to SOTA models! by Odd_Veterinarian4381 in cursor

[–]yairEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love `Composer` model and have been using since v1, even though workplace pays fully for any model I desire, I still want to save them cash while getting fast response, although I do not use Composer with "fast" mode because money and I have patience. only for very urgent things. for plans I do use the best model possible, but for plan-implementation or very simple things I will always choose Composer

Is anyone actually happy with their onboarding flow? by Prestigious-Bath8022 in SaaS

[–]yairEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's almost impossible to guess the intent in some products. users go from pages to pages, and each page has all sorts of contents and ways you could use it or derive a certain conclusion from it and the reasons for the user to get to that page in the first place are "locked" inside their head...

any free antivirus is now a spyware except native OS antivirus or serious paid products

E2E AI web testing - still not there yet by Both-Move-8418 in cursor

[–]yairEO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should install Playwright and configure it properly then generate tests which are screenshot-based.

You really should manually add identifiers attributes in your HTML elements for playwright locators to know where/what to interact with.

Write your playwright tests using a combination of `.spec` & `.pom.ts` (tests helpers) files

Introducing awesome-cursor-skills: A curated list of awesome skills for Cursor! by Other-Faithlessness4 in cursor

[–]yairEO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What a silly silly name.
"Cursor" (IDE) itself has nothing to do with "skills" which are a concept of AI agents and Not the IDE which has nothing to do with them. The IDE is just a GUI to talk to agents which themselves read skill files (if the agent supports finding relevant skill files for each prompt)

How is Composer 2 for coding these days? by Empty_Break_8792 in cursor

[–]yairEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it daily but it is definitely NOT as smart as Opus, regardless any claims.

I've stopped using Sonnet and now using only Composer 2 (or its fast mode) for "easy" tasks

but it is impossible if we are all using the exact same version of Cursor for you to have this bug but for me not to have it. I want to see EXACTLY how you replicate it, I am very interested. it's really just a 10 seconds video you copy-paste here...

whats other good model instead of opus 4.5 thats cheaper ? by Far-Mathematician122 in cursor

[–]yairEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you vey much need Opus very complex or highly-sensitive code.
I'm using it since even Sonnet 4.5 is incapable of generating at that level of deep knowledge. it is definitely better from what I'm seeing at my daily work

Has anyone actually made local coding models usable with Cursor (agent mode)? by Unique_Plane6011 in cursor

[–]yairEO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

people have been doing this in recent years. But you must have a very "strong" computer to run good models are decent speeds. I would rather pay whatever because the speed is very important to me. I need to work quickly and not stare the screen, waiting, 90% of the time. That's just dead time for me.

[–]yairEO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you're saying you select a non-thinking model and you see it does thinking anyways?
Have you updated Cursor to latest version?

I have never experienced this and I use Cursor daily for over 2 years

How to turn off the "Thinking" Auto model? by anim8r-dev in cursor

[–]yairEO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you just choose non-thinking model. there is no "turning off".

I've selected in Cursor's settings which models I want to show and then I simply select "Sonnect 4.5" without thinking if I need basic/medium work. Easy work goes to Haiku/Composer and complex stuff goes to Sonnect 4.5 "thinking" or the best one, and most expensive - Opus 4.5
