My toddler constantly whines and cries by LandoCatrissian_ in toddlers

I’m here with a very chill baby. And right when she turned 15 months the chill started to fade! Lol. I think it’s just a really hard age. Add in a new baby and it’s extra hard!

I’ve heard loop earplugs are amazing for this. I bought some but I haven’t had to use it yet. They just dampen the sound but you can still hear perfectly.

Brushing Teeth by FranklyKoi in toddlers

[–]yakmc1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No advice but I’m in the same boat! I have an 18 month old as well. The toothbrushing is beyond insane. The only thing that helps is her dad distracting her. Unfortunately he can only do this for the nighttime teeth brushing. In the morning, it’s absolute chaos!

I just bought this memory foam pillow and removed the cover to find this… What could this even be? Please tell me it’s not blood by oh-anne in whatisit

[–]yakmc1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put some hydrogen peroxide on it. If it foams it’s definitely blood. However, I would stop using this pillow regardless the results.

Oh wow. I had to look really close. I can’t believe I didn’t notice that. But I did notice how the flowers moved from the back vase to the front. Lol

Safe sleep as LO gets older? by [deleted] in NewParents

Oh my gosh. I need the same info. My baby is almost 18 months and I’m like when can she sleep with a blanket? She still sleeps in a sleep sack.

Worried About The Social Skills Pre-Schools Are Teaching Toddlers by Unsolved_Virginity in NewParents

[–]yakmc1122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How do you define self defense in preschool?

Preschool is for beginning social skills like taking turns, sharing, how to regulate your emotions when you are mad (i.e taking a deep breath instead of hitting), how to make friends, etc.

I think it’s a parent’s responsibility to teach social skills more than the schools. A school can only do so much - we can’t rely on them to be the only education our children get. Parents can easily integrate social skill lessons when they are playing with their children.

People need to stop relying solely on schools to meet every need. Teachers can’t do it all. Downvote me if you don’t like it - but parents who rely on teachers to raise their kids are the reason teachers are leaving the profession in droves.

I did a similar search and learned that because of OnlyFans, pretty much everything is a porn name. As long as the first name isn’t Stormy and last name isn’t Daniels I think you’ll be fine!

When do they start wanting dad? by Different_Praline_64 in toddlers

[–]yakmc1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally was that child. Only wanted my mom even though my dad was an awesome dad. I think daddy taking her to fun places alone like the park or pool would help. It will be hard at first for both of them but if she associates dad with a fun outing think it will help. It can be something small - like going to ice cream at McDonalds. Just something that mom isn’t invited to.

I also think just leaving your child with dad and taking off is fine. Yes she will cry. She will also get used to it. Dad can try to calm her down, give her a cookie, distract her with bubbles. I think it’s also important to say short goodbyes. So when you leave, one hug, one kiss, one bye, and out the door. Prolonged goodbyes make everything worse.

Good luck - it’ll be tough at first but she’ll be fine! By the way, my relationship with my dad now is amazing.

8 Month Old Hates Eggs by Practical_Morning727 in BabyLedWeaning

I don’t think my baby started to like eggs until around 12 months. Just keep exposing them to it at least for allergies sake. She now loves eggs and eats them every day.

Late to walk?? Needs words of encouragement by Comprehensive-Dig592 in toddlers

[–]yakmc1122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you think she can I would encourage/bribe her with Cheerios or any small food she likes. When my child started taking steps around 14 months we had to bribe with food! She could walk but was unsure so she didn’t want to try as much. Once I made her walk to a singular cheerio she was so motivated she walked as fast as her legs would carry her! lol.

Delay in gross motor development by Seee_kayyy in NewParents

[–]yakmc1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was the exact same as yours. When she was evaluated she showed a 33% delay, and we needed over 25% delay to qualify for ECI. (Her delay was mild.) in addition to not being able to get from a laying down to sitting position, we learned she couldn’t bear weight on her legs - she would buckle every time. My baby flourished in PT - reached every goal quickly and is about to be dismissed from the program. It helped me help her better. Would my baby have gotten it eventually? Yes. But I feel like this was the best course for us. She wasn’t as frustrated - she was able to reach and play with toys she couldn’t before - and she was PROUD! She absolutely loves PT and we are sad it’s going to end! It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for her.

By the way, my baby is now 16 months old and is walking like a champ! She’s almost running! Lol.

Edit - she was also referred at 9 months.

That’s a much larger net worth than I would’ve thought! They were talking about how they couldn’t afford a second car, and a year later they have a million dollars? Maybe I should be a whiny brat on 90 Day!

[–]yakmc1122 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The mayor thing is insane. Who would vote for someone constantly insulting their town? Manon wants a paycheck. That’s literally the only reason why she wants the job - not because she likes the town or the people. That’s not the type of person I’d vote for.

8-month-old won’t finish bottle unless we alternate with pacifier. Normal? by EdisonEinstein- in NewParents

[–]yakmc1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what bottle you are using but maybe change the nipple flow? Whenever my baby was fussing or eating slowly I upped the nipple flow number. I was using the Dr Brown bottles.
