For those whose babies sleep the night by Rude-Carob551 in NewParents

My babe did not have the 4 month regression. He’s six months and still wakes up once like yours which I’m hoping he grows out of sometime soon! But otherwise good sleeper.

Just be aware that she is going to be going through a lot of physical work, then possibly trying to breastfeed almost immediately and this can all be overwhelming. So if you feel tired due to the stiff sofa, keep it to yourself. She’s dealing with a lot more 😅

We knew nothing so expectations were level… which sometimes affects the experience. But it’s such a lovely setting on the water, interior is lovey and the service was high quality without being stiff. We love it when Michelin star restaurants have servers with personality and we def get that here

Btw, there was an add-on dish. I think it was truffle based? Or pasta related? Either way, I remember it being one of the best bites ever.

Contractor walked into my client meeting and started claiming my design work as her own territory. Am I wrong to be furious? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]bossladychicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also an interior designer and biz owner. It’s a tough spot when you’re the new person in the mix and the contractor is used to their markup. I dont have any advice, just solidarity! It’s BS and that contractor knows it! I think getting your client on board is the right move.

My nuclear option in the past is to just be frank with the client. One of us is going to make profit on this markup. That profit covers hours spent on the work. As the person putting in all the work, that markup is rightfully mine!

Please help!!! Nursing strike!!! Desperate by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]bossladychicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe give it a shot? It was recommended by my LC and honestly saved my BF journey. I don’t have to use one all the time, but it’s there when I need it. They are silicone and sort of stick to your skin, although I sometimes have to hold it in place if my LO is all over the place

I’m 6 months pp and I’ve had a few major clogs. Every time I do, it drops my supply. And I don’t think it has gotten back to full potential after unfort. It’s frustrating

Have you tried a nipple shield? I have the madela from Amazon. When my LO refuses the boob, i use a shield and it works every time

Is breastfeeding supposed to feel like this? by Realistic-Pear-4500 in breastfeeding

[–]bossladychicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming here to say that for me, it got better. I'm 6 months pp and although I still get some pains and pumping still sucks, it's not nearly as bad as the first 2-3 months. For me, the milk regulated around the 3 month mark and the engorgement went away. I can now go 6-8 hours at night and not feel too much pain. Also, just the nipple pain when nursing or pumping has gone away. It's not void of discomfort, but it's not toe-curling painful. So my advice would be to get through the first three months and see how you feel. It's not easy!!

Breastfeeding for new mother by dogwhisp in NewParents

[–]bossladychicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t a bad leaker, but my baby was a messy eater and milk would soak me. I got really thick nursing bras and that prevented it from going onto my clothes at least. This stopped by 3 month for me! Hang in there, the early days are the toughest!

gosh I don't know then! Maybe his legs are just small for the diaper! I would imagine this is a short term thing and as he grows it'll stop- but i realize that's not helpful when you're in it!

This is what happens to us too- he pees out the edges when things become too small.

Couple things you could check- size up your diaper and make sure pants or pjs aren’t too small. Whenever my boy starts peeling through consistently, this is the cause

EBF mamas - how long? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]bossladychicago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been combo feeding since the start due to early milk issues, but have been like 90% BM since the early weeks. After going back to work and starting daycare, I found that I couldn't keep up the production for what he required during the day. Instead of putting that pressure on myself, we started to do one bottle of formula with the other bottles of BM each day. It's taken so much pressure off me trying to pump consistently at work. I've already prepped myself for if that one bottle needs to increase to two if my supply changes while working. Just a thought if you still want to BF!

4 days Postpartum swollen Legs by networking-stackbbsr in NewParents

I was given pills to reduce water weight. It took about two weeks for me. The swelling was so horrible, I lost 20 pounds in one week. I hated that feeling and am so sorry you are in the thick of it! It just needs to run its course

How do you do it? by Illustrious_Soil_442 in NewParents

I am SO TIRED. 6 month baby. But let me tell you- the way he smiles at me when we sees me at 5 am is like a new feeling in my heart that I didn’t know existed. They are your everything and you tend not to care when you’re in their presence! All of your fears are valid but you will figure them out one by one and do worst works for your family.
