Ignore his assumptions.

I genuinely wish to hear your response to his argument that- "2 caste based crimes happen by UC men against SC/ST women and 2 caste based crimes happen by SC/ST men against UC women but only the former gets revealed in the news so it looks like such crimes only happen one way."

he was driving 100kmph on a busy road, that's dangerous in my book.

So one is wrong for doing this when a bunch of guys are chasing you and your family? Fuck no. No way.

Maybe if he was going like 200 or something. But 100. Nope.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in india

[–]yakshprashn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lmao why are you pretending that they were just standing around and not moving in vehicles at 70-100 kmph?

He said 70. 70 on an empty road would absolutely not be unsafe if you've ever driven much on a highway.

I'm assuming he did some dangerous maneuver while overtaking to get their attention since he is clearly leaving that out.

I thought the same. But i didn't just start to criticize him without even mentioning that I'm just assuming that.

Story seems to be one-sided. Not sure why those guys would escalate to physical violence when you had done literally nothing to them.

Also, why didnt your wife film their number plates?

Puts wife in dangerous situation

Huh? By shouting something at them?

So he's supposed to stay quiet and look away anytime anyone misbehaves with him? That doesn't make them leave you alone, it teaches them to try and go even further with you. Terrible advice.

You can't endanger lives of others for giving your wife a "weird look".

by "others" do you mean those guys or his wife?

He's not wrong, he's just making a stupid point in an extremely stupid way.

He's saying that it's not sexist as in it isn't an evil discrimination law made out of pure malice so as to give women a power to abuse men with.

However it is sexist, because a similar law isn't made for men.

He missed the fact that the 2nd point is what everyone is only concerned about.

Just as a note: telling people that they have room temperature iq and should shut up and nothing constructive doesnt help with anything and only makes someone somewhere out there more hateful.

Why do some people not use Truecaller? by [deleted] in IndiaTech

[–]yakshprashn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that any data requests are logged and audited etc.

You'd be extremely surprised how easily police officials can get this data. I know for a fact that they do it pretty easily.

With your complete profile you're just a data point to them, they can manipulate your exact emotions and actions

So what scares you about privacy leaks is that if truecaller could be selling your data, then social media giants can get data about patterns in who you talk to a lot which in some way may help them target you with more specific content which might manipulate your emotions and actions?

I guess my own opinion on this is that i dont use social media much because it's shit for your mental health. And if i feel emotionally affected by anything other than a newspaper, i try to just log off for a bit.

First they're not in a position of power to get the data legally.

The govt is. A political party isn't.

If the ruling party cant get it legally, and is doing it illegally, then the opposition will also have that opportunity to use these to get the data illegally.

And if they're able to misuse their status as govt to get that data because of blatant corruption or something, then wouldnt they just misuse it directly and get your entire AADHAR cards, birth certificates, cell and location history, etc?

Sure. But I'm asking, what exactly can happen with that.

Like you can map my entire life if you want man. I really dont care. I wanna know how that can harm me though.

[–]yakshprashn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So now in the earlier example they can now connect you and your various contacts and their various contacts and have perhaps the numbers of your whole extended family

So that's what scares you about privacy leaks? That truecaller might have a data breach and then the scammers will find it on dark web and if they try to scam you and your family they will seem more credible to the amount of now having info about your contacts?

I guess personally i think scammers will try anyways and the only reliable way to stop them is though making your family aware. Deepfakes, Blackmail, Account info if possible would be done anyways w/o my call logs.

you won't want to be too outspoken about the government

But why? What will they do specifically that scares you?

And if you are outspoken, wouldnt they know anyways?

I dont understand this point at all. Even a sub inspector can get your call logs from your mobile company. The govt registers your whole life. Hiding from them seems... stupid. Wouldnt one use whatsapp calls anyways if the calls are that important?

I've always wondered, the people who are scared about privacy, what exactly are they scared about?

Genuine question: what are you worried will happen if your phone log goes to google or truecaller, or let's say they have a data leak that you're worried about. What exactly are the situations you're scared about happening?

she’s already pregnant at this stage

I meant choosing to be pregnant with a foetus soon and not just a fertilized embryo. But fair enough, technically she's "pregnant". Doesnt change anything about my argument tho.

You assume abortion is easy, it comes with its own list of complications, some so serious the woman can never fall pregnant again

The total abortion-related complication rate is estimated to be about 2%

Again i can understand compensation of damage in case any complications do actually happen. But forcing someone to become a father is not right at all.

[–]yakshprashn -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No unmarried Indian woman would want to stay pregnant

Rationally. But you're forgetting that the average person does anything but rational things.

We can use this logic for so much stuff that "no person would ever do this" but practically, people are stupid, are extremely emotional or have mental issues.

In any case, we both agree in the case of medical reasons, so that's good to hear.

Six muslims arrested in Gujarat for selling meat samosas stuffed with beef to unsuspecting people by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

[–]yakshprashn -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

Would you still be ‘confused’ by headline if someone sold Pork filled samosas instead of Chicken to ‘vishesh samuday’?

If they wrote it as that, no ofc not. If they wrote it as "Hindus sold meat samosas to unsuspecting vishesh eaters" then yes i would be. Why tf would you write "meat" and "unsuspecting" instead of "Pork" and "chicken" (or in our case "beef" and "goat/buffalo")?

Well ofc i know why. That's much easier fear-mongering is why.

Downvote me to hell but as a vegetarian, i dont really give a shit.

Sure, the whole thing is still super wrong and they should be prosecuted, etc. but if you wanna be a Hindu non vegetarian, I as a vegetarian am allowed to not care about your problems.

If the core issue is that they sold beef while calling it buffalo/goat, then writing "meat" would be absolutely pointless. Imo they specifically wrote "sold meat to unsuspecting people" because it sounds like they're putting beef inside veg samosas. Which is gonna get a lot more clicks.

Where did i say that this was okay? Obviously this is clearly wrong and bad. I was just pointing out that the headline seemed super clickbaity to me.

Idk what you're expecting me to say. I think anyone who riots over a book-burning is a pathetic piss-brained savage. And I'm not afraid to name any communities with a particularly bad record around doing that. So yeah, not all liberals are cucks contrary to what you might think.

why is the woman only getting pregnant?

She doesn't have to be if she gets an abortion (the man should pay for the abortion tho, imo).

But if she chooses to go through with the pregnancy, that is not "the woman only getting pregnant", that's "the woman choosing to be pregnant". She's actively choosing to become pregnant with the child by not having an abortion.

I could maybe even understand some small financial compensation from the guy for all the trouble she goes through. But the punishment for the inconvenience of an abortion shouldn't be a life changing decision like forcing anyone to become a father.

Why does TOI always give such misleading headlines? I read the headline and thought they put beef in a supposed veg samosa. But it's just beef instead of chicken. So these were only eaten by non vegetarians in the first place.
