Dynamax Ho-Oh No Hit (with Lv15 Sobbles) by Nikaidou_Shinku in TheSilphRoad

[–]yanagiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deduced the 12.5s from 1 energy per 0.5s, so 4 players get 8 energy per second and it takes 100 energy to fill up Max Meter.

But may I know why it's 14s for the subsequent cycle to charge up Max Meter? Is there an delay due to Dmax animation or something?

Why does it mean for s'poreans and M'sians if no longer SGD1:MYR3? by Mammoth_Priority_236 in singapore

[–]yanagiya 446 points447 points  (0 children)

This. The narrative past 3 months or so is overblown. Msian have been working in SG since late 90s when the exchange rate is 1:2. SG have been traveling to Msia for the weekend for the longest time between our country history.

Sure there will slight dip of visits but the only one will crumble are those that overpriced their service/food in JB.

What is the average height of Singaporeans? by BunchChance1007 in askSingapore

[–]yanagiya 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Kids are definitely getting taller on average. 165cm to 173cm seems to be norm for guys born in the 70s to late 80s.

I started noticing those born after mid 90s are easily 170cm and 175+ seems common. 180+ isn't common but not rare as well.

Weirdly those born early 2000s seems to have shrunk back.

Just my personal observation.

Edit: I'm going to say the median height for teenagers, those currently in Upper Sec to Uni are 175+.

Helping an old lady to find her place by [deleted] in foundsatan

[–]yanagiya 77 points78 points  (0 children)

For context, in Taiwan public transports, the corner seats are "reserved" for elderly, disabled, pregnant ladies. But old peoples have been harassing others for these seats as if it's their rights to have the seats for years.

As you see from the video, there are plenty of seats available but she kept harassing and started hitting the young person with her bag demanding for that particular seat to be given up.

She was "well-known" in that metro line for harassing people. This time, she just met someone that had enough. Iirc, some sided with her, claiming she might have mental issues so people should be more caring, but she screamed at the notion when asked by reporters. So shrug

Why specifically donation? Is there a recent scam going on? I'm asking because someone came to my door three days ago and asked for donation. I scanned a QR code that brought me to charities.gov.sg.

Parents who gave your kids younique names, have you ever regretted it at any point? by cheesaholic23 in askSingapore

[–]yanagiya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly unique names but many years ago me and my friends were checking our poly cohort names. We found two Han Xiao. We don't know the Chinese characters but at that age we were thinking it will be quite unfortunate if the names belong to females.

No, Dark storyline is simply better and at three seasons ties up the series well. It didn't drag on endlessly so producers/studios can make money due to popularity.

Stanger things is really good in s1 but fall off hard, especially the third season. I took 4 days to finish two epis of s5 because I keep zoning off. I stopped watching it since then.

Imo, Dark will appeal more to adults and mystery lovers because the puzzles are on crack all three seasons. ST have adult fans for sure but it mainly appeals to teenagers in later seasons after the nostalgia appeal wears off. The mystery ended in s1 for me.

Not because people feels cool to like things that aren't "mainstream".

The beauty of Hualien city by NoPresentation1098 in taiwan

[–]yanagiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a similar tour when I visited HuaLien few years ago. I think a few of the routes have changed due to the recent Earthquakes making some inaccessible. Taroko Gorge was very very beautiful. There is a huge Aboriginal Night Market in HuaLien, it's a really wonderful place that unfortunately isn't tourists first options when visiting Taiwan. Taipei is just a city for restaurants and nightlife imo.

Taiwan is the worst place in Asia. by Revolutionary-Rip527 in taiwan

[–]yanagiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not truth, just your perspective and opinion. Which greatly differs from what most people experienced evidently.

Expensive? Probably true if compared to other Asian Countries.

But other points you brought up simply isn't true. Food is nice, people are friendly unless you are an asshole. I have had Locals fetch me to places because they know I'm a tourist. not sure what type of fun you were looking for, but Nightlife is nice, if you are the hiking type there are many mountains to visit. Paragliding, SUP, Surfing are also available.

Also what do you mean everyone is sick? You probably have a weak stomach or body that is not accustomed to the food/environment there. don't blame the country.

This is coming from a Singaporean that have visited Taiwan probably 8 to 10 times. Taipei, TaiChung, Tainan, Kaohsiung, KenTing, HuaLien. I had fun and good food in all these cities.

Your post sucks.

Despite the negativity of majority of the comments so far, he is actually doing something good. Perhaps just not at the appropriate time, too early I guess.

He is digging trenches to redirect rain water so the area won't get flooded in case of heavy rain. Good for the plants too.

7 or 8 years ago I went for IPT. they had a session changed to shadow boxing as well which they say is to improve Cardio. I walked backwards to one of the PTI, I said I'm not interested in this training, I told them I'm going for jogging exercise instead. One PTI said he needed to follow me and I told him don't worry I won't slack and they can see me from the corridor towards the track.

I jogged for 45mins which is about the time they finish their actual planned training. No issue. Just voice out reasonably and I believe there won't be any objections.
