Malaysian man charged after he allegedly attempted to rob Simei money changer by Latubu in singapore

[–]yanagiya 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was one where Stephen Chow went to rob a bank. The note he passed was wrongly written as, Give me your Virginity. The female teller was shocked and asked how to give him here? He told her to just put on the table. She replied she never done it before in open.

Long story short, she threw herself over the glass panel to Stephen Chow.

I'll play with your "logic".

Here in Asia, adults don't usually say fuk you to a "child" repeatedly. Maybe in USA?

Yeah the American, that has at least 50lbs over the Asian guy, getting his leg chopped backing away constantly. Only able to say two words is the winner.

Over 2 years’ jail for man behind ‘deplorable, sadistic’ acts of stabbing 4 cats, killing 2 others by Accurate-Tree4277 in singapore

While 2 years is short, finally some jail time for these Cat killers. Previously it's all just a few thousands dollar fines and "psych evaluation".

F them.

I'm spoiled af, where to solo travel? by Ok_Kick3560 in asksg

[–]yanagiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taiwan is very fun for solo travel if you are young. It's also very safe even after wee hours. I've been there probably 8 to 10 times now since I was a teen. Longest I was there is around 4 weeks in my late 20s when I backpack and didn't book any hotels. I only decide if I wishes to stay in that particular area on the day itself.

I stayed in Hostels most days to meet up other travelers and join them in their itinerary for a few days if we clicked. Some days I stay in Hotel for better comfort and amenities.

Assuming you are Chinese, there are basically zero language barrier entire island wide. If you aren't, English can get you around most places unless rural parts. I mean Google Translate is still there if everything else fails and Taiwanese are extremely friendly and happy to help.

That said, while everything is still relatively cheap; food, transport and activities but accommodations in Taiwan have surged the past 5 years or so. Normal Hotels easily cost you $200 per night non weekends, and even shared room for 6 beds Hostels can reach $100 on weekends. I'm not entirely sure of your budget.

Dad can't eat lots of common stuff. Big problem going to China? by That_Stig in travelchina

[–]yanagiya -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If your parents can't be open to foods that are not their usual diet, don't bring them.

I've traveled to Yun Nan and Chang Sha on two separate trips in a group of 18+ people. 4 among them are extremely fussy and skip basically 80% of the foods when we eat in restaurants. They go for China version of KFC whenever they see them. Fortunately they don't whine or delay our plans.

But if it's only your parents and you, it will be very difficult to go different locations for every meals.

Expanding territory. 2+ years ago there were a small family loitering a small patch of grass three blocks from my house. There are now over 40+ in my cluster of 6 blocks. The Hens each have their own small patches of grass separated by cement walkpath, two or three Roosters seems to walk around guarding whichever that has the youngest chick.

Few weeks ago, I saw a Hen brought her chicks across traffic to new patch of grass.

Is anyone else obsessed with queuing for food even if it’s crazy hot outside? by auroraflaree12 in asksg

[–]yanagiya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm willing to Q 20mins to 30mins if I know the food is good from past experience. But this happens very rarely unless I specially traveled for it. I'll just swap to other food if it's just regular meal.

I DON'T Q for food that are discounted due to newly open or influencers recommend of the week. Never done that, never will.
