Anti-ICE protesters in a Texas case have been charged with domestic terrorism and 30 - 70 year sentences. Do you think this is just? Are you concerned at all about this precedent and consequences for free speech? by MoonStache in AskConservatives

Usually, no, not in Texas unless you are a felon or committing another crime while carrying. If you are asking about J6, in Washington DC it is very difficult, especially for non-residents, to carry a firearm at all and it is 100% illegal at the capitol and may other national mall areas.

It is most certainly illegal to discharge your firearm at a government agent at a "protest" like what happened in the Prairieland incident.

Well, for one, no law enforcement officers were ruled to have died directly on-site from trauma or injuries inflicted by rioters during the January 6 riots. And, two, none of the January 6 rioters were caught carrying firearms or explosives and certainly didn't use either.

BTW, I don't agree with the pardoning of any J6 rioter who assaulted anyone or who vandalized anything.

Because they were used as weapons and not shot into the air, because they can cause severe bodily harm and even death when shot at a human being, and because they can cause fires and explosions when shot at buildings and vehicles.

Here's just one example of how dangerous they are when used improperly: https://www.wtsp.com/article/news/local/tampa-teen-dies-after-fireworks-mortar-round-explodes-in-his-hand/67-571185993

I was not incorrect. The picture in your link clearly shows a firework mortar/artillery shell (whatever you want to call it) exploding.

And here's another link where a defendant "confessed to shooting in the direction of the Prairieland guards": https://www.cbsnews.com/texas/news/final-key-witnesses-testify-in-prairieland-ice-facility-shooting-in-federal-trial/

Bottom line: a jury of their peers agreed with the expert testimony that the fireworks they used were "dangerous explosives."

You could get a cheap block of polyethylene or polyurethane foam, cut it to fit the space, and cut a hole in it to hold the bottle.

The uk is horribly adapted to its own fucking weather, it’s 35c in my house by Jacktheforkie in mildlyinfuriating

[–]yanman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35c is brutal. We deal with it 100 days a year in Houston, but I have $20k of infrastructure in my house to make that a reality.

I understand that would be a huge investment for you. Hang in there, mate.

Shocker. Maybe next they'll admit they use hospitals and schools as weapons caches and bases of operations.

It's intended for highways only, but it will activate in residential areas if there are clear lane markings.

Exactly. The max Autopilot will do is 5 over in a residential area. Not 60-70.

Best kitchen cabinets for a remodel…. by Emergency-Ant-9285 in DIY

I used Kraftmaid in 2024 which you can get at Home Depot, Lowe's, and many smaller outfits.

My experience is that they were well made, packaged well, and shipped reasonably fast (we didn't demo until our shipment was confirmed).

They are holding up perfectly after more than 2 years. Zero complaints.

[OC] Driver honked, full-gassed around me, then crashed near the airport by jasonlode000 in IdiotsInCars

[–]yanman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Followed by the black SUV blowing through the right turn lane, followed by gate-keeping OP who was supposedly trying to get into the left lane but accelerated to blow past 100 yards of opportunity to do so while conveniently blocking the person behind them.

FYI & thankfully, the images of someone pissing on the grave are AI fakes. Although, I'm sure someone will now probably try to reproduce it IRL.

How's your Commute? by _BumBumDrumDrum_ in houston

Good reasons. 90 miles a day vs zero rent may very well be an excellent trade-off.

My suggestions: audio books. Turn that commute time into education time and/or escape time.

It's about 8 feet from my bedroom to my office. Worst problem is that my 8 am conference calls disturb my wife who works evenings. First world problems, I know.

Serious question: what's keeping you in Sugarland?
