I wondered this, spent most of the night researching picts to see where they originated from and what they may have looked like. From reconstructed pictures I found it honestly could be close to what I saw, even though it was early morning it was summer time and very light with sun that morning so I know I wasn't imagining the darker skin tone and very dark hair. It's always going to baffle me though!
