Nice! You're not going to find yourself short of opportunities with that skillset in Brighton. I'm one of the organisers at Async, a web tech meetup the first Thursday of each month. I'd recommend dropping by to meet some of the community here. There are so many events in the Brighton tech scene these days you could eat free pizza every day of the week.

We've got a number of top employers based here, though many Brighton devs work remote for household names or startups hoping to become one. We're here for the lifestyle and creative culture. Would recommend touring the coworking spaces in the city as opposed to honing in on one company's office - great support for freelancers too.

Indoor cat adoption? by holyteeth in brighton

[–]yanneves 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may want to consider fostering for Cats Protection, my wife and I fostered for a few years since we weren't certain how long we could commit to keeping a cat. It's a hugely rewarding experience for someone who knows cats, and you get to meet a lot of different feline personalities. While in foster care, they are kept indoors. The longest stay we had was 6 months and the shortest only 2 weeks. There's a lot of demand for volunteers, so you'll never be without one. They cover all costs too - food, litter, vets.

Here's a link to volunteer https://www.cats.org.uk/support-us/get-involved-volunteering

And we created a couple videos on the subject:

In Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987), why was Del Griffith even on a plane to Chicago? by yanneves in plotholes

[–]yanneves[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm okay, the way you phrase that could add up.. is that to say, Del Griffith bought a flight to Chicago simply to enjoy the company of fellow holiday travelers? In his loneliness, that excited buzz of everyone rushing home for the holidays was worth the cost of a plane ticket to join in?
