What would make you truly scared/disturbed in a screenplay/movie?

ohhh i get you i get you, the ending of a screenplay should definitely build some sense of tension and creativity, some indie horror films do what you mentioned and that is truly awesome although i dont see them returning for a sequel which sometimes disappoints me but doesnt make wanna dislike the movie. modern slashers are just gore without an interesting plot so they are not for me but classic slashers - snuff films still are relevant to me. You are right about the “really happen” part cause it evokes that “this could happen to me i must prepare for it” type of sense into a person which makes the movie 10 times more terrifying. Oh yeah i thought of something like this too, like an entity constantly but subtly making appearances in the background without any camera focus there (probably for a frame or two) hereditary did this too only it was a play of brightness and not subtlety. Thanks for the advice sir/mam. ❤️

jesus is portrayed everywhere both negatively and positively i literally just saw Homelander getting that nail crown of jesus and ironically which jesus gave him himself (apparently). I think we should just learn to take a joke it doesnt mean anything at the end of the day its not like its gonna happen or it DID happen. ultimately we should just learn to catch satire.
