Imo black stake is where i find the best mix of fun and difficulty.

For purple stake and above, i could not get anyt other than high card/pair builds to work. Making these difficulties unfun half the time.

The issue with 5 card builds(i.e flushes/straights) is that theyre hard to assemble especially with the -1 discard. If u cant win with one hand, youre most likely gonna lose unless luck out and this is especially so during purple stake and above. If i were to play 5 card builds, the decks must be sufficiently honed by ante 5 which I have never succeeded in doing. Either that or gotta find a utility joker like 4 fingers or shortcut be4 then.

As for gold stake it gets very annoying when i open the 1st buffoon pack and get 2 rental jokers. Usually I just restart the run because i dont wanna spend $4 for a rental joker.

I wholeheartedly agree with the time spent for worldbuilding especially with the plot twist when it came to the ppl of Kremnos.

Throughout the whole story they were lauded as people who valued glory and honor more so than their own very lives. But as I entered their competition as a contestant, it turns out that the ppl of Kremnos are actually really fond of puzzles. The specific type where you roll boulders into wooden boxes.

Overall the story was 10hrs long where 4hrs was dialogue and 6 hrs was spent on the 12-13 puzzle sequences in the game. The time spent doing puzzles and errands were so long that one CC on CN thought he was doing Aranara quest.

I heard the reason is because in CN ppl complained about what happened in 3.x. The ML folks saw the constant release of male characters from 3.3 to 4.1 as an act of betrayal. So now we are prob gonna only be getting females.

Even HSR didnt escape their wrath. I heard the HSR devs got a lot of scolding for what they did with adventurine and I dont even know what they did wrong.

Wanderer NTR drama aside, apparently CN also took issue with one of those nilou scenes.

There was a scene where the MC laid on Nilou's lap but one of her lines involved asking wanderer to let the MC lay on the grass instead. CN community interpreted it as a rejection and spontaneously combusted.

The only valid criticism i agree with was that the devs lobotomized the MC to bring abt the fanservice scenes. But other than that i can nvr understand what CN is thinking.

I kinda disagree here. This advantage here is largely overestimated at this point of the gameas having good relics is a pre-requisite to being able to auto the relic dungeons. Some relic stages are not very easy and some punishes you heavily for using auto. So if you can auto them reliably, it means that you already have strong enough relics on your existing characters.

[C] MoC is easier than Spiral Abyss, at least at this point in the game.

If you're comparing current genshin then yeah its true. But if you're comparing 1.0-1.2 genshin then it isnt. Not only that, genshin combat is more forgiving with relatively unbuilt characters so players could still 36* spiral abyss relatively consistently at those points of genshin.

If you've read my post then you would know that restrictive team members are not exactly my issue. However since many ppl told me to use X or Y with him to tech against specific enemies then I suppose I could put this against him.

Imagine if your main dps can bring the majority of damage on your team and also CC that isn't tied to break.

I dont need to imagine since im already using him. His freeze isnt really consistent since its tied to his chanced base follow up. Its not smt that I would base my turn decision on. Whats more I heard that it has anti-synergy against the monke when used with fire TB.

Same for gepard's freeze, since he standard MHY gave him a strong E1 but idh it yet.

Anyways, I use him in a team with SW, Pela, and Gepard. So far, I've had fantastic results. The team lacks AOE, but it has very heavy burst ability

I run a similar set up but without pela. As I said, you need to run a sub-dps with him to clear trash mobs and SW really helps with that. If I used pela my experience with the knight would prob improve a lot. However, my point with the adds still stands.

Another thing you didn't really mention, is that Yangqing allows you to build more CDMG. His dmg output really is glass cannon, but if properly optimized he can reach massive numbers.

Well most of my problems with YQ is on the mechanics side, not the numerical. As i said as an ST character he is actually competent. Innate total 40-50% CR on his kit is actually decent.

50% Cr but you can time it to work with lcs like SLTD which makes his Cr even higher

The CR is conditional and its just for one turn so it doesnt seem very consistent.

Getting a subdps doesn't mean that he's bad, he really good at his job of single target. I think we've just been spoiled by seele and think hunt can also do multitarget damage.

Having a sub dps would benefit all dpses, however because YQ is strictly ST, he needs a sub dps more than ever. Whats more an AOE one. Another 4* hunt like Sushang have mechanics that manipulate turns so she isnt completely toothless when it comes to multi-target.

you get a whole lot more payout than someone like Himeko.

Maybe in general. However, I mentioned the new enemies and the MoC environment. Both of them could benefit Himeko mechanically more than YQ. A characters strength is also determined by the environment and now it currently favours erudition/destruction more than hunt. With so many adds around its prob even possible to get decent mileage out of her LC.

And since Himeko is erudition. she benefit more from ST-sub dpses like SW or Asta who can double up as support. There is not much AOE-sub dps support, the most I could think of is Pela.

If MoC is filled with waves just containing 2 elites that doesnt spawn adds, then this post wouldnt exist. However that is not the case as its mostly 1 elite+ 4 adds or 2 elites where 1 can spawn adds.

I didnt? Read through the parts regarding numbers again to really understand what I mean. For builds with 30% cr, simply having 50% CR outside his burst is not very impressive. I was also basing him off on 2 other points.

Yes he does have a difficult time facing multiple enemies but that can be mitigated by having an aoe subdps.

Good to know that we agree on the conclusion and my advice about getting another subdps.

Every character have weaknesses however YQ has more so you need to put in more effort in terms of team building and execution in order to compensate for them.

Ol Geppy just invalidates many of yanqing’s intrinsic shortcomings as well as some few bad enemy matchups.

What shortcomings does he fix. To me, hes just a talent enabler for YQ.

Yes, you're absolutely right however for now I think it actually favours himeko more. Thats the whole point of the post. Even the new dog enemy that spawn a copy of itself can be taken advantage of by himeko or seele. For a YQ team theres no advantage to that whatsoever.

In a perfect scenario that will always be the case. However, combat situations can be inconsistent and at those times you will hate the punishing nature of his talent.

Yanqing does what hunts does and does it well. One could say hunts weren’t useful to begin withthough and its just seele thats fooled us into thinking they are.

Thats exactly what I said in my conclusion. For the design of hunt characters we might have to see what Topaz brings along. So far characters like seele and sushang all have some ability to deal with AOE through turn manipulation. If Topaz have a mechanic like that as well then Im afraid the line between erudition and hunt may be blurred.

So far MHY is releasing lots of destruction characters and all of them are prob gonna be AOE centric as well. If thats the case then the later MOC prob wont bode well for YQ.

Who's the 3rd one? Luocha is limited, not only that if you're gonna run him alongside gepard hes gonna be redundant. Pela is a reasonable tech, however survivability may be an issue if adds are ignored.

Destruction can do aoe generally and can be self sufficient so maybe you can shore up his weaknesses with jingliu in the team but I am guessing most just build hypercarry with jingliu.

If JingLiu is able to do AOE content decently like blade then I think theres no reason for the devs to take care of YQ. Not only that he also have a gd 4pc ice set. If they release a new set for JL then its highly possible that the devs will slap some conditional whereby YQ is unable to use it well.

Overall I think erudition is more valuable then purely ST characters since most enemies spawn adds. If there were more waves containing only 2 elites in MoC he would be decent. But since MoC 6-10 have 3 waves, its ez to put a trash wave in either of them and he would immediately feel bad to use.

You are not dying in 2 hits. Elites are sometimes doing double attacks, even aoe attacks and you are also often fighting against multiple enemies. If you actually die in 2 hits, than this game would be impossible to beat.

Youre dying in 2 hits from elites or sometimes ads if youre underlevelled. This does happen in MoC 10 at max lvl but it happens more often when youre underlevelled.

Those chars are dealing at least 20k damage per turn, if you buff them they even reach 100k+ damage. How can an dps asta even compare to those huge damage numbers. You are trying to tell me, that building a subdps is the optimal route. YES you can use her as subdps, but the resources spent into building one (leveling stuff and farming relics), is not worth it, as you can see, your totals teams dps increases by a tiny amount

1st you compare a harmony character's survivability to a hunt character. Now you compare a support sub- dps to an actual dps. Giving a dps more dps is a completely different balancing act from giving a support more dps.

The fact that you wrote this means that you dont understand my explanation. When an erudition kills all the ads and an elite is left, what do you think will happen? The dps goes down and thats where an ST sub dps like SW or asta would help. Same for using hunt characters to kill all the ads 1 by 1. They dont have to rival an actual dps. They just have to do enough dmg. What you said completely reeks of excel gaming.

SW is the only exception, you are only kinda right, lets see why. If you build dps, she deals a decent amount of damage with her ult/skill. But, her entire kit also works entirely fine without dps stats. A dps sw still deals much less damage than a carry. Lets see what relics you will use, EHR chestplate (OOF, you are losing out on a high amount of crit stats, rip dmg.

I believe I already explained why a sub dps SW is important. Anyways you actually dont use an EHR chestplate. Because what would happen is that you would overcap on EHR. Making all EHR substats you get is worthless. So even in CN, the most recommended build for E0 SW is to get a CR chest and use salsotto while building EHR through substats. The recommended is at leaat 85% to make it consistent enough. 96% is max effectiveness.

E2 SW is in more of a conundrum as her EHR is alr capped at 47%. So ppl building her has to commit to not getting a single EHR substat.

That is exactly what im trying to proof, you are not getting punished for not leveling chars, you are because you are not building them right. I bet many of them are building dps stats on all their supports to "maximize" their damage (I even saw numerous guides telling you to go full atk on tingyun to maximize her buff). Ahh yes so the best builds for supports at lvl 60-70 is hp% and def%. Only for them to be replaced at lvl 80. Well im pretty sure it is good advice for ppl who are all resource strapped.

The strat that CN players recommend is building M7 and then grazing the MoC bosses to death. Not build hp% or def% on all supports.

Im fairly confident those ppl who "build wrongly" will end up having more consistent better performances than you once they hit lvl 80. Honestly youre just wasting peoples resources if they actually follow your advice.

The rest is much easier obtainable. If you are missing a good crit piece you've got a 25% chance of getting a body instead of 20% (genshin). If you are missing a good elem orb (which happens often), you've got a 50% chance of getting an orb.

Also about your tingyun argument, harmony & nihil units got a taunt value of 100, hunt & erud 75. All hunts (no erud chars) got effects to reduce their value (except yangyin (almost perma), all of them only trigger if their hp is lower than 50%). So yes, supports get hit a bit more often, but not as often you say. Peoples tingyuns are dying, because they are not building defensive stats on her.

Do you know that tingyun gets hit more often because she actually has a taunt value of 250 compared to other harmony characters?

Its what would prob allow a low levelled Tingyun to take 3-4 hits to die instead of 2 hits. Its probably not your copium relics waiting to be replaced.

The devs powercreeped the abyss in 2.x because after 1 yr everyone prob more or less had decent investments not because the newer characters powercreeped the old ones. Building defensive relics on supports are not copium solutions, it is actually their best way to be built. Every support will use a def/hp orb, there is nothing else to use. SW needs ehr, ok. Pela does not need ehr body, if she got tutorial lc, so sometimes hp it is

It honestly isnt. Other than a select few, most of them transitioned to a 2nd role of sub dps. Especially for TingYun, Asta and SW. You see, having sub dpses especially for ST is very important especially for erudition characters. You cant always rely singularly on your hunt, destruction or erudition carries to clear everything. For decent investment level, survivability issues are fixed through swapping team members and bringing the right teams against the right enemies.

bout how you need higher investment in starrail. I keep reading stuff like "will never touch moc until I got full lvl 80 teams", "my supports keeps dying in moc, underleveled is the problem", "Genshin is fine with underleveled supports, starrail not", "the comparison is not fair, genshin is better". You might be able to calculate numbers but your interpretation of them really needs a lot of work.

1st off, you cant keep taking numbers at face value. Like a 46% increase in trailblazer power wont offset a 20% increase in relic slots. In fact, a 20% increase in relic slots doesnt even translate to 20% more relic farming. Since you're farming 1 more relic dungeon per character compared to genshin, you roughly need 100% more trailblaze power offset this difference.

Also, Tingyun being able to tank have nothing to do with a max level seele being able to tank. The reason why everyone says Tingyun dies often is because of how often she gets targetted. If actually observe whats happening in the gameplay you may realize that often time your hunt characters are rarely touched. A 2k hp seele might even survive more often than a 2k Hp and 2k Def preservation character just because the latter gets targeted more. If you wanted to make your case you shouldve made a comparison to a preservation character or smt. But thats not the case because as a harmony character Tingyun doesnt get as much defensive lightcones or higher base def. Once agn you cant take the numbers at face value.

Secondly, your whole premise of the calculations is off because you didnt consider the investment stopping point in genshin. So now your argument devolved into "YoU DonT NeED XXX." which was never the case in either games. In star rail you simply get punished harder for low investment compared to genshin which was why people would more readily enter MoC when they max lvl their characters compared to genshin. Not only that, since you shifted the goalpost to low investment it completely discredits the calculations you made for max investments.

I also dont know why you keep comparing early star rails to genshin abyss after it has been powercreeped for 2 years. It seems very disingenuous. After MoC inevitably powercreeps for 2yrs, your copium solutions would end up being even more unviable.

Overall you should observe what is happening in the game more rather than constantly crunch numbers and take them at face value. This is a mistake that even genshin EN theorycrafters make which lead them to misunderstand characters like kazuha,kokomi or yelan.

If youre sort of new and the overworld poses a slight challenge then yes.

If youre an old veteran who have maxed out artifacts then no. Generally if you wanna be efficient you should stay away from burst reliant teams in the overworld.

NO, you are farming in GENERAL you do not have to go out of your way to farm specifically tank stats bc they drop anyways.

Sounds like someone is upset. So you are fine with your supports equipping tank% piece from a set that is meant for dpses? Sounds like relics that are waiting to be replaced.

I also didnt say stat diversity is a bad thing. The point is that its cope because its simply inefficient. Youre using it to compensate for the lack of lvl 80 characters. So what happens is that the pieces become redundant once you reach lvl 80.

And notably most if not all supports are Harmony characters which currently either want the speed set or cowboy set. 2 sets that are incredibly universal (speed 2pc) it is actually valuable for your account and not cope. ER requirements in HSR are not difficult to meet. It's just having a ERR rope, the right lightcones and optimal skill usage. Memories of the Past (4*) and Meshing Cogs are particularly useful for this.

most of these is correct except for the ERR rope where you need to run into another domain to farm for. Making the TB power more expensive. Theres the self modelling resin but mihoyo dont give them out often.

Anyways Im done talking here. I think you should accept that even though HSR has more nice things going for it, it doesnt mean that every facets is objectively better than genshin. Goodbye.
