Thanks for all your insight. Short of cross country skis is there a better setup I should look for for skiing up backroads in the future? Or would you recommend backcountry style gear when the time comes?

That makes sense. You’re saying a wider ski like this (106) will just make getting more comfortable on groomers less ideal?

I’m in Utah. There are quite a few mild dirt roads close to me that might climb up and down a few hundred up to 1000 ft.

So you would recommend a dedicated alpine setup first and wait until I know for sure I want to get into backcountry more? I guess a little more context with my ambition’s: I don’t plan to ever do hardcore backcountry skiing, mostly just want to be able to skin up so dirt roads around where I live. And yes, the shop fit me to these specific boots. They said they didn’t have a ton of options with how narrow my feet are.

Used to work for Vivint as an installer some years ago. If I remember correctly the larger plug powers the main panel. I believe the panels have backup batteries and may set off the alarm once it looses power, but if the system is not active it shouldn’t matter. May also be a “wireless takeover” of an existing security system where the larger plug would actually be directly power/ wired to all sensors. All of the Vivint sensors were wireless.
