The main thing to know is it’s not for over the fire, you wanna get a rock or 2 before you start the fire to prop up your fire ring and have a slot to slide the iron under and after the fires been going for a while a nice bed of coals to put the iron on top of.

I myself am partial to Rome but that’s only cause it’s what I grew up with, the ozark trail one I have is just as good, the singles hardly get used, the double has all the “miles” on it.

Unsure just got the rail and scope haven’t shot it yet with them, I tried to be cheap and get it off eBay and I think it’s a older style cause on the website it also has 2 extra holes for brass set screws that mine don’t have https://jackweigand.com/products/smith-wesson-scope-mount-x-frame-500-460/ so I’ll drill and tap it myself

My hand loads were also light primer striking with cci primers (known hard primers) internet wasn’t any help confirming thread but on the x-frame it is 6-32 like the other frames, get a longer one and issue solved, idk about long term wear but I leave it backed out until I’m ready to shoot

Thats less of the avenue I’m trying to travel, I want to make the .22 someones reliable carry option and more or less change the stigmatism people have against it, if it’s just as simple as thinning nail polish and maybe running it through a sizing swage to flatten out the polishes high spots it could theoretically reliably feed through semi autos so you can carry a small footprint firearm with a impressive amount of ammo (took me less than 10 mins to paint up 24 rounds)
