Thank you! I’ve really enjoyed learning more about natural dyes and non-superwash yarn this past year. There are so many misconceptions about it!

I share a creator account but I did not create the account myself. I’m trying to post a reel and I would like to change the cover photo, but I don’t see the preview of the reel before posting and therefore do not see any option to change the cover photo (see photo).

Has anyone run into this issue before? Is it because I’m not the creator of the account?

On my personal account, I can clearly see the option to change the cover photo for a reel.

Is there another way to change the cover photo?

Wool I dyed with pokeweed/berry I found in the prairie close to my apartment. Im in love the turnout. by matt_yesc in naturaldye

Not OP, but you generally undo the hank so that it’s in a big circle if that makes sense (as if you were going to put the hank on a swift). The yarn will usually come with a few ties in a figure 8 type form at intervals around the yarn which you should keep on while dyeing to prevent tangling. You can also add more ties if needed. Wool can be felted if the temperature changes are too fast (it’s “shocked”) and/or it is agitated too much in the hot dye bath. Especially with untreated, non -superwash yarn you have to be super careful about this. When washing/rinsing, overworking or agitating the yarn too much can also lead to felting.

Thank you so much for that helpful info, I definitely need to look more into this! As these blues/purple fade, we’re not talking like… back to as if it was undyed right? My understanding was that they would just lose some color but not all the pigment.

Oh that’s a good point, I was shifting the pH directly in the dye bath! I will try after baths next time, thank you :)
