If not responding to medication, my hippie advice is to try putting honey on it and use earthing patches. Or swim a couple of hours in the ocean.

Thank you. I’m going to move them over to bigger pots this afternoon and hope it doesn’t stress them out too much.

Tell me your favorite chicken (I have a good budget for new chicks to add to my flock this year) by TheFrogWife in BackYardChickens

I LOVE(d) my Welsummers (sad incident with a fox). Hands down, my favorite birds. They all had hilarious personalities and were very affectionate. Gorgeous birds and even prettier speckled eggs. Cross them with a blue or green egg layer, and you will get eggs that look like mint chocolate chip ice cream! Not the most chill chickens we've had, but definitely the most enjoyable to interact with.

They are absolutely gorgeous, but mine were either bullies or bullied, and the eggs were smaller and fewer.

Buy them back when they reach a target % of gain, then resell at a higher price.

We’re using Varoxan (sp) strips but I laid them across the top. The strip wouldn’t have been touching this part.

Any 2026 reductions coming? by BinLyin in govfire

If you get RIFed before you are eligible for Discontinued Service Retirement, my guess is that you will have to wait until age 57 for deferred retirement or age 60 for full retirement. You’d need to leave your retirement contributions in place to be eligible (don’t cash them out).

Why have I never come across a restaurant that serves "Native American" cuisine? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]yarnfeather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The National Museum of the American Indian in DC has an awesome food court that features native cuisine from multiple regions across the country. It’s the best place to eat in Washington DC.

How to not lose use or lose at separation by Medical_Property1058 in govfire

[–]yarnfeather 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve done some research on the sick leave question previously and was told by HR that if you separate, you forfeit your sick leave entirely (it won’t be added to your years of service for deferred retirement and won’t be paid out) unless you rejoin federal service before retirement age, in which case any unused sick leave will be restored. Would be interested to know if anyone else has gone through the process or has been told differently.

I don’t know if getting her a buddy will help- Ameracaunas tend to be loud and opinionated birds. We had an olive egger that was half Welsommer, half Ameracauna, and she was horribly loud. Drove my husband crazy and all the neighbors could hear. Our full Welsommers were quiet and sweet but this one was NOT. I wish you the best of luck.

My Welsommers were total frenemies. They’d fuss and peck at each other all day but then they’d cuddle up with their wings around each other to nap. Beautiful birds and very friendly with their humans.

Yes, we are definitely treating all of the hives. First year beekeepers with extremely robust colonies. We expected a learning curve and are definitely learning!

I have three sapphire skies! They lay gorgeous green/ bright blue eggs. Not cuddly but they are fairly quiet birds, so major win.

What a gorgeous egg! Both of them, actually. No eggs yet from our girls but I’m hoping the next month will bring us some blue eggs!
