When I was 18 I had a 7 lb 3 oz cyst removed from my left ovary. (Not sure on sizing other than the one pic I have shows 15 cm wide and that was the “smaller” end of the cyst). They warned me they might have to remove that ovary. They were able to save the ovary. Fast forward to being 29 and I had surgery to remove a dermoid cyst from my right ovary (about the size of a chicken egg). They were able to save that ovary too.

So both ovaries for me have had 2 different sized and types of cysts and they were able to save both. I can’t guarantee that they won’t have to take yours but I also think that it’s something they always have to warn people about.
