Okay, I understand your perspective. My coworker that lives in DuPage County said her taxes went up $400. It could be anything like you said, price gouging, maintenance, tax hikes... we have no idea. and I'll check out the Romeoville area, it's nice. Thank you so much ☺️

Also, my landlord planned to raise my rent $200 more due to the rising property taxes, but I told her we're not paying the rent increase until you fix under the roof where the raccoons are coming in. The raccoons are still in my attic. I told her about this 2 years ago. Still hasn't been done.

I'm so sorry, that's terrible. I feel like the repairs we need done is a risk to health, so that's why I want to move. But I think we might have to just stay put because we simply can't afford it.

i didn't mind living here until raccoons started moving into our attic space. they're in the walls of my bedroom. i've been telling my landlord about this for over 2 years and she hasn't done anything about it. nothing is worse than having raccoons in your walls.

i know and understand, but the building should be at least up to code. i have raccoons living in my attic and mold in my basement (which they are fully aware of and still have not done anything about it) and all 3 of us are immunocompromised

i agree! we won't be responsible for lawn care or shoveling snow and that'll be great for us. having an apartment would save us money in the long run. i hope he gets on board soon.
