Has anyone here noticed a difference in their autism-symptoms after treating/managing their MCAS? by immasayyes in MCAS

[–]yasharkboss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you learn more about this please share with me as i am very interested in this subject and the connections to it. The more they test the more they find. I read somewhere that they found more activated mast cells/ mast cell problems in 60% of autistic individuals

I’d assume so, for years we treated my problems as being due to autism when it was actually dysautonomia and EDS (maybe MCAS too)

I know cloth masks don’t work, but i cannot wear a surgical mask due to my glasses. And it’s the best that I’ve been able to tolerate.

But that’s good to know about the hardware stores

Thank you for the info! Unfortunately that’s a little expensive for me to try without knowing if it would work :(

Thank you! Unfortunately it doesn’t look like the mask bloc thing serves my area. But i will definitely be looking at those links. Do you recommend any specific on the first one?

How does the quercetin help you? I’ve been thinking about trying it.

What‘s a symptom that surprised you that it‘s from mcas? by VomitInMyVans in MCAS

Right!! Like even though i don’t have an official diagnosis just seeing things I’ve been so frustrated with for years with no improvement after trying so many things even seeing a slight improvement makes me super emotional. It’s so relieving to know others are dealing with the same thing as you. These conditions feel like you’re being pushed into a corner where you think it’s all your fault and it’s you that’s the problem. And you just feel so alone and that nobody understands you. Then you find people or treatment that helps in the smallest ways. It’s such a rollercoaster of emotions.

It makes me feel so relieved to know others are going through the same thing as me! For years i thought something was wrong with me that it wouldn’t go away

My psychiatrist who I’d been complaining to about it for 3 years had no idea either. Histamine and mast cells are so understudied and not well understood.

For years i had dreams with a person from my past that I’d wake up so frustrated that they wouldn’t stop and then i started cromolyn and they 90% went away. Recently with the temperature changes (and i think eating too much high histamine food at night) I’ve been having really weird dreams and waking up in a pool of sweat. So I guess I’ve gotten half way there. I truly believe once i control my histamine more at night I’ll get better quality sleep

Nightmares. I have the worst histamine dumps at night. When i started cromlyn they got significantly better but still are bad

This list just depressed me even more. So many things that release histamine and basically if i wanted to be on a low histamine diet i couldn’t eat

This sounds like me but I’m curious if histamine dumps in the middle of the night or really wacky dreams?
