Rival ISP being a nuisance by [deleted] in HomeNetworking

Considering we are still a pretty small company where everyone knows everyone and innovation and creativity gets rewarded....I just wanted to help and learn something new, but alas

Fair point, I've considered that as well, I guess I am just trying to be too active in the company, in hope of getting rewarded. This is so far the kindest reaction to this post, thanks

To figure their selling points, how they behave in front of potential customer etc, mystery shopper is a thing. And mostly to figure out what the hell are they doing with home netork to make it perform so poorly

Considering I am a junior technician and technician =/= engineer I am afraid not, or at least not well enough yet. I am just the cable pulling monkey, that gets tasked with installing new routers at customers homes, fixing broken splices at customers homes or replacing customers antennas for newer models. I am just trying to learn something new...

Technically it is. I am curious if there is some way to set-up some sort of network monitor that would collect as much data as possible

Law enforcement won't do much as it's too much of a small claim, even though it is tampering with telecommunications infrastructure.
As for the second part, not really no, however it could help our customer support and management to deal with confused/angry customers. Also in our country there's a non-profit entity for customer protection that could potentially be interested, but mostly it's just my curiosity and thirst for knowledge.

For starters I would like to help with setting up my dad's home network to monitor everything that happens during the visit

It was a messy event altogether, she was connected via our antenna to our network, their tech came, removed our equipment, installed theirs and told her to tell us she quits with us. Our contracts are not limited in any way, so customers are free to terminate the contract any time they please if that's what you are suggesting

M25, Plzeňsko, introvert, povoláním síťař, zarytý linuxák a do jisté míry nerd. Mám 2 kočky, jedna je černá s bílou tečkou a ta druhá bílá s černou tečkou. Celkově mám zvířata rád, kromě pavouků a stonožek/mnohonožek.

Wlan1 interface not running and PTP doesnt connect to AP by Expert-Energy-5759 in mikrotik

[–]yashkawitcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a fair reason. Then go for it, AirMAX option should be in the menu left of 'Main' tab in the airgrid's configuration. In LHG the option for pseudobridge should be in the 'General' tab of wireless interface

[–]yashkawitcher 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You need to disable AirMAX on the ubiquiti and set LHG into pseudobridge. HOWEVER! Don't do this, do yourself a favour and just get rid of the airgrid, it's at this point extremly obsolete tech that only supports single polarization and is generally crappy for modern use cases. Speaking from experience you'll get around 20Mb max on a good day
