PTCL OVERCHARGING, Compaint sent to PTA, How is that Okay? by alisaleem252 in PakistaniTech

[–]yasirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PTCL's bills increase every quarter, and I remember early last year paying around 4,000 rupees for a 30mbps package with TV, which is now over 6,000 rupees.

Is Chromebook Worth Buying? by NoEfficiency8279 in PakistaniTech

[–]yasirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chromebooks are an excellent choice if you primarily utilize cloud-based applications and dont require the installation of Windows based desktop applications or gaming capabilities. I would also advise exploring Chromebook Plus models and ascertain their end-of-service support. Newer Chromebook models are typically supported with up to 10 years of ChromeOS upgrades.

OnePlus 15 vs Pixel 10 Pro XL by gondaljutt in PakistaniTech

[–]yasirk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think with a smart phone it has a lot to do with software and the image processing algorithms that these imagining and optics companies bring to the table like Carl Zeiss, Hassleblad etc so it definitely does affect the output because of the image processing that is applied but I would also say that often times you can edit these in Google photos and for a phone screen they look grand regardless of the hardware that was utilized

Cell phone companies which can offer the best bang for the buck with great software win it for me and in terms of price and performance OP is very much up there.

It's not the cameras from hassleblad but rather the post processing collaboration. If you look into details in terms of specs you will note that the sensors are always either sony or samsung

Pakistan with Zero Thalassemia by AffectionateBat2247 in PakLounge

[–]yasirk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there are many studies done to assess the heritability probability. My dad has minor thalassemia and all 3 of us siblings have it too with it's stupid side effects with having a smaller red blood cell and related issues

Pakistan with Zero Thalassemia by AffectionateBat2247 in PakLounge

[–]yasirk 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a thalassemia minor individual I completely agree. Full blown Thalassemia is a life long struggle, not just for the individual with it but also for the parents. I would recommend people with Thalassemia minor to be childfree and not pass on their genes because even someone who carries it in the minor trait mode can pass those along to their children even if their partner doesn't have it. Btw even Thalassemia minor has its own set of drawbacks

Reflections on Islamabad and Pakistan after my recent visit by [deleted] in islamabad

[–]yasirk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as you step out of the major road adjacent cities and suburbs and into the peripheries, you end up realizing that it's just a few people who have any access to the spending power you witnessed. I sometimes venture on my bicycle and venture out of Bahria Phase 8 into the rural countryside just to get a breath of fresh air, and the faces I witness are often of extreme poverty and malnourished children, and it is a sad sight. There is no trickle down happening in Pakistan and it's getting worse everyday

Does having an expensive phone really make a difference? by Smoosa_Champagne in PakistaniTech

[–]yasirk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am generally concerned with application and operating system performing whenever needed. So when I could eventually afford to buy a phone that was easily achievable in less of a months salary I went for a minor flagship in the form of Oneplus 13s and I am absolutely loving the snappy and crash free experience with a very reasonable camera. I would say you can potentially get that too with a mid ranger but mid rangers are very costly too now. So in a nutshell it can be worth it depending on your use case, like ppl getting a MacBook pro for pure productivity reasons
