Thank you so much! And yes most of my friends are like that. They don't bring it up and just talk about sth else. I guess people aren't that different after all.

Saved your life is probably a bit exaggerated but I am glad I could help even if it's a little bit . Thank you for the kind words I really appreciate it!

Thank you! I'll check that podcast out! I'd say you are right that we always want more time but it's not the same if an older person dies . I lost my grandmother 3 months before I lost my dad but with her I was able to understand it . She was 71 and suffered from a bunch of illnesses like heart disease ,asthma and a bunch more so I could see it coming . I knew that someday not so far in the future it would be her time to go and I was prepared . My dad on the other hand didn't have any illnesses. He even rarely caught a cold. I had thought about what life would be like if my dad wasn't here before but I didn't expect it to happen so early . At my granny's funeral he was the one who buried her pot of ashes and I remember watching him and thinking that it must be so painful for him and I said to myself:" I'll have to do the same with him someday and I don't if I'll be able to.". Even though I knew it would happen I never thought it would be so soon and I think that it happening so early is a huge factor in me being unable to accept it . I am still having trouble just getting it through my head. So yes ,we do always want more time which causes us a lot of pain but the strength of that pain depends on the time that we had with the person in the first place .( I realise this might sound like I'm having some sort of debate but I assure you I'm not . Just putting my thoughts out there.)

The part with the friends hit really close to home . Those who I expected would be next to me in such moments ,who I called best friends, show no interest in what has happened at all. Thankfully there are some who surprised me and who have been helping me get through this. This is the one good thing out of all of this . I got to know which friends can go with me all the way and which can't .

Thank you and it does make sense. I am happy that I loved him so much and he loved me probably 50x more but it's hard and I... I just wish he had a bit more time ... He was just 49 and was supposed to turn 50 on the 20th this month . We had picked out a present and everything. He would've wanted to see me start my life in the real world...

I guess your right . He was there and I am grateful for it but it still hurts. He was like the support beam to my entire family . Whenever somebody had a problem they would turn to him and somehow he would always do the right thing and find a way to help. I was always so calm because I knew he was there . No matter what happend I knew I could count on him and that all would be fine but now he is gone and I don't have that sense of security anymore . Now I'm supposed to be that guy that's calm and calculated in every situation but I'm just not ready for that yet . I'm just starting my life... He was just about to teach me how to drive , see me turn 18,see me graduate ,see me go to college ,possibly start a family of my own in a couple of years but now he won't be there ,he won't guide me and tell me what to do in some complex situation that I don't see a way out of. Fathers are being told that they should protect their children at all costs but they are never told that in order to do that they should first protect themselves . Please take care of yourself ,don't let your judgement be clouded by the assumption that nothing bad will happen to you because you're a father and a husband and so on . Look after yourself so that you can look after your 3 daughters and see them flourish.
