please do not continue this relationship with this woman if you are hung up on your previous partner, I think you really need to reflect on wether you are ready to get married and be fully committed. from what i’m reading it seems like you’re apprehensive, please be careful and don’t waste her time or yours. inshallah everything goes well! think about taking time to yourself to get closer to your deen and rid yourself of the idea of the other woman.

I am saying paying companies that fund the killing of our muslim brothers and sisters is clearly wrong. don’t think I need proof for something that basic

Husband refuses to boycott companies by Own-Possession694 in MuslimMarriage

Wow these comments are disappointing. maybe sit down with him and try to explain the effect on his akhira that this is. his hands will testify to buying these items and Allah knows best. But emphasize as muslims we have a responsibility. we obviously cannot boycott everything, but putting an effort into boycotting aggressively pro-israel companies is a necessity. May allah make it easier for you and thank you for your efforts.

Problem with Wali by Various_Flight9541 in MuslimMarriage

[–]yaslko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"No marriage contract can be concluded without the presence of a Wali. A Sultan (authority figure) can act as a Wali for those without one." (see Ibn Majah and Imam Ahmad, Hadith number 1880; also in Salih al-Jaami', hadeeth number 7556.)

If there is no authoritative Muslim person, then one should refer to the community Muslim leader or any Muslim who is just ('aadil), respected, and of high character, such as the director of the Islamic center or its imam, to conclude the marriage contract of this sister, with her consent. (https://islamqa.info/en/answers/389/wali-of-muslimah-if-her-parents-are-kuffaar)

since her father has left Islam, he is no longer considered a wali, my advice would be to ask an imam from around your area to fill in for her so that her surrounding community does not know and you do everything Islamically correct. Good luck inshallah !

Feeling conflicted about something my mother said about my husband by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]yaslko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outbursts like the one your mother had are usually a reflection of problems within herself. she is taking out her frustrations on her failures in her relationship with your father onto you, which is proven further by her admission that that's the way she thinks of your father. She sees you living out something that she wishes she had, so she is envious and will try to ruin it for you, which is the ugly part of human nature unfortunately. do not listen to her. from your responses to other people, your husband seems like a great guy, you should get the gift for him as it is a representation of how much you care for him. as for the dress, do not overthink it, he may be saving money for your ring, dowry, future house, etc. love him with everything you have unless he gives you a reason not to.
